So no surprise to most that Trump wins.... And a small upset , Sanders win Indiana.

CNN's delegate estimate update

DEM DELEGATES TONIGHT

Sanders - 39

Clinton - 29

TBD: 15

DEM DELEGATES TO DATE

Clinton 2,208 total, 1,695 pledged, 513 super

Sanders 1,439 total, 1,398 pledged, 41 super

------------------------------------------

REPUBLICANS TONIGHT

Trump - 51

Kasich - 0

TBD: 6

REPUBLICANS TO DATE:

Trump - 1,053 total, 1,008 bound, 45 unbound

Cruz - 572 total, 546 bound, 26 unbound

Rubio – 167 total, 166 bound, 1 unbound

Kasich - 156 total, 154 bound, 2 unbound

http://edition.cnn.com/2016/05/03/politics/indiana-primary-results-live-updates/index.html?adkey=bn

A huge surprise tonight , Cruz drops out and leaves the race to Trump.

Kasich will suspend his campagin according to NBC newsand

So it´s all but confirmed that Trump will run against the democratic candidate in November.

Cruz needs to name his Supreme Court nominee, along with most of his cabinet. That ought to secure a few more votes in California.

Imagine how much of a turd you must be to get embarassed by Donald Trump, a pile of spray tanned circus peanuts. I would commit Seppuku to preserve my honor. Maybe that's the problem, Cruz has never had honor.

As all 3 news media said , 60% said they wanted an outsider to win. and 40% felt betrayed by their party. That is what the republican party forgot. Because those people is what made the tea-party etc...

And when you end with a wet blanket IE zero charisma like Kasich and a person who is so disliked that the doctors slapped his mom when he was born, Cruz. It's no wonder a media savvy person like Trump can come around and pretty much win the votes hand over feet.

Man, I don't know how he does it. He has been criticized by both Dem and GOP media almost every single day. And yet, Trump still going on the winning spree. If he wins the nomination like this, man, impossible becomes possible.

Considering how inept Hilary Clinton is in a debate capacity, damn, Trump is scary. He's gonna go "Hilary has a stinky pussy because Bill never cleans it!" Idiots will guffaw, and Hilary will just act indignant, which will give him a win every time. It's an illustration of how badly our educational standards, and disdain for intelligence, have come in the last 35 years.

That is the problem , Trump will not be able to do that when he has to secure voters over a broad spectrum. He has to appeal to the huge number of Bern voters, which will be hard when they are the same group who hates him with a passion.

4 years to come up with somebody to go against Clinton and the man who has made an entire campaign of buzzwords and not detailing any policy he puts out besides "it will be great" and "Mexico will pay for it and they will love it" gets the nomination. Congrats Republicans.

Not really, he's getting free name recognition for the next presidential nomination.

Kasich can run from now until the end of time in every republican race for presidential nominee and he will still not win.

I have no idea who is opponent is in his home state, but when you can't beat a guy like Cruz and Trump , you kinda showed that you will never stand a chance because you do not have the charisma of a paper bag.

Yeah, Trump really has no chance in the general election. If Romney got destroyed by Obama whom there was plenty of bitching about after his first term, just imagine how poorly a joke like Trump will do come the big stage.

Clinton will likely DESTROY him debate wise anyways. She, unlike the laughing stock the Republicans offered up this election, actually knows how to handle things come crunch time. If she can survive the Benghazi bullshit, she can handle Trump.

Sanders looks to win Indiana.

Good. The tactics of violence and intimidation are paying dividends at last. Keep it up, Bernie! If enough superdelegates can be cowed into withdrawing their support for Hillary, then the White House (and the Treasury) will be ours!

The problem for me is that Trump has beat the odds from the moment he announced his candidacy. YOu might be right, and I hope you are, but it's still scary as all hell to me that a guy like Trump is basically a stones through from being leader of the free world.

Trump vs Hillary will get amusing indeed.

That said, grats to Sanders for winning Indiana and even coming this far.

If I was an american I might have been voting republican. Trump might lead the US into ruin but Hillary will lead the US into ruin. In a time like this, I would rather gamble, than play it safe.

But yay, Cruz is gone, he would have by far been the worst candidate of either party.

I wouldn't be surprise if Trump buys his way to the Nomination and let's face it, the man has money to buy his way to the top. Congrats to Sanders and I fully expect to see Trump vs Sanders this year.

Sanders is not gonna make it, just because he gained 10 votes in Indiana is no cause for optimism. He's going to get smashed in NJ and he will lose California.

No, he could still be the nominee.

He's been in it because he thinks if he makes it to the convention he could be picked.

There is no real nominee until the convention. Saying that Trump is the nominee now is false, he's the one people think will be it but until the Republican party says so they have the right to pick anyone.

Cruz was on the outside so that's why he left, there's no way they would have picked him.

They can but they also don't want to go in blind.

Kasich is hoping that he can show them how well he did in certain states, Red/Blue/Mix, and give them a sample size so he can say "with your support I could win these states that I lost, maybe turn this blue red."

Cruz is an outsider so there is no chance they stand behind him. If he didn't drop out now he would have gone into the convention looking like he was asking for the support of the party, that would pretty much doom the rest of his career as being the outsider who didn't listen to the party.

They can and they can´t

There is a rule that says you have to win at least 8 to be on the 2nd ballot. But since Kasich is on the first they say he will be on the 2nd as well.

But all that matters no more, Kasich is out as well.

The interesting question is, how bad will this hurt the GOP in the Congressional races?

It's a hell of a hole the Republicans are in now.

With Trump being so unpopular among practically everyone, even republicans are burning their registration cards now, if a republican nominee is forced to endorse Trump, then the democrats have all the leverage they need to win the race.

Not only WILL the GOP lose the presidential race, they are in serious danger of losing the House and Senate too.

@Jaysonguy: Not only that, my mom actually said she would choose Trump over Hillary in the survey. And she never cared for GOP because she normally just automatically vote for Democrats. This is pretty Yuge indeed. What I see is, Trump won most of the coasts states over other GOP candidates. Meaning, during election, he would get easy GOP votes from the center and at the same time, have a shot at the coasts states which were dominated by Dems. And with Obama coming out apologizing his failed Syria involvement, which Hillary is also involved in as secretary of states, Trump may even get a shot at that. For me, either one would be fine. Even the small business hating Burn would benefit me.

Anyway Kaisic is the biggest winner this round. No matter what the outcome, his career only gets better. Because, so far, I have no idea what's bad about him. And he remain strong through out the race without self-destruct. This is someone who can do good work.

Kasich is not winning anything.

I think he learned that his path is staying in his home state and nothing else because no one else in America cares one bit about him and he has the same problem as Jeb Bush zero Charisma.

Sanders is done. Even if he keeps winning elections the margins are so small he can't make up the delegate shortage.

And if it makes it to conference he doesn't have any of the Super Delegates.

Best thing for the Dems is for a Clinton Sanders ticket, and do it now to steal Trumps thunder and piss him off.

No one has grabbed so much of the Democrat and Independent votes that Trump has since Reagan.

I used to be total left but the left that used to say that everyone is equal is gone, now it's nothing but pandering and segregation.

Trump is the only one in this race who says that everyone is on equal ground.

He wont

Clinton has the problem because she's on the left who are all touchy feely with feelings. They see cheating as abuse towards women and that means Clinton endorses and supports abuse towards women, I don't see that ending well for the liberals.

It will be very difficult to convince women to vote that way.
