I'm moving in about a month and where I currently live, I'm starting to feel comfortable. Now my mom wants a bigger house somewhere else. Having to move away so suddenly sucks.

hmm.  The only time I ever moved was when I was about 2 years old and didn't have any friends anyway so it didn't really affect me.  I could see how it would really suck, though.

I've only moved once. It was when I was in kindergarten. I only moved like a mile away, though, so I still went to the same school and all. The only difference was that I was living in a different house and I didn't live close enough to walk to school (at least at my age).

I've had to move several times, it sucks having to try making new friends, especially someone who doesn't do well socially like myself. I hope your adjustment goes smoothly though:)

I moved from Phoenix to Seattle in 2nd grade. I thought it would suck leaving my friends, but I was more popular and had more fun friends once I got to Washington. I can't imagine the last nine or so years if I hadn't moved. A lot of times it is for the better, although once you get around high-school age it can really suck ass unless you join a team or something once you get there. I would suggest going out for football, since you will have summer practices to get to know a lot of people and make friends.

same, i think my multiple moves have helped cause a lot of my shyness. I hate having to make friends, just to leave in 2 years.

lol. me, play football? A girl like me would get destroyed.

We have a martial arts team at my school and I highly doubt the next school I go to will offer that. :(

Same here, I moved going into my freshman year in HS, then going into my Junior year, then right after graduation, then I lived somewhere for 4 years and then moved back to where I originally moved from when I was 15:?

well moving only sucks if you're leaving all your friends behind etc....but other than that, I would think it's exciting to live in a new, maybe even better place

The first time I moved was in like '91 so I was only a year old. Didn't bother me much. :P But the second time was in '03, but it was fine because I didn't miss any of my friends... still had MSN. :P Plus, I made friends within a couple of weeks.

Ahh, I see... When I read the title, I thought you were mainly refering to the physical act of moving and not the emotional part of it all (even though I'm sure you mean the entire processs.) I agree completely with you.  I recently moved from NC to GA for a career move and I am just beginning to get situated after 4 months of living here.
