I mean for the dumbest things imaginable...

Whats the most retarded reason you've been told to go **** yourself by a parent?

Mine would have to be not wanting to eat food they fried...

That earned me some raging, following by some door slamming, and some **** yous, and of course how ingrateful I am being shouted throughout the house...

you guys?

I still have never been told that by an adult.

I have never had my parents do so. I have been told things like "I thought I raised you better" and "you are going to ruin your life" when mentioning that I might date someone outside of my ethnicity however. I don't even remember how I responded.

I suppose you were lucky in that regard. Where I grew up, many parents became irate when they learned that little Bobby wasn't the prodigy they thought he was, and subsequently took it our on the teachers. You'd be surprised to learn that almost every child was a prodigy in that town, as far as their parents were concerned, at least.

yea other then that the only time swears were ever shouted in my house was when I was fighting with my stepdad like 6 months ago (not like a mad at each other fight, but you know a "lets see whose tougher" fight) and he pushed me and my err jewels got crushed against a sharp corner of a desk, and I shouted at him to go **** himself.

it was all good though.

My mother was one of the least violent woman you'd know, at home or in public. However, I told her to go you-know-what herself once when I was a teen, and she took one of those big universal remotes and bashed it across my head, breaking it into several pieces. There are some lines that should never be crossed.

My mom has a very bad temper so if she gets mad, she will yell at me (and anyone else) and use any cuss word she wants, sometimes with the addition of hitting to as well. Majority of the time it is because she is angry at someone else so she decides to take it out on anyone else *shrugs* Other than that she is nice

Still, breaking a remote over someone's head for telling you to **** off is an extreme overreaction.

Really, kids who come from homes with super-authoritarian parents always sound like battered wives when talking about their treatment at home ("well, sure, he busted my lip on the toilet when he forced me to eat dinner out of it, but I deserved it because I burnt dinner that night and my husband works too hard to take care of us to be eating burnt dinner. He's normally a nice person and it's very rare for him to act like that, I swear").

I've never been told to go **** myself by neither of my parents, or any other adult for that matter. Though my dad once told me to STFU for something stupid. Needless to say, I didn't speak to him for an entire week just because he said that to me, especially since I was probably 13 or 14 years old....
