Dredd 3D - 95% on Rotten Tomatoes

Who's planning on seeing this when it comes out next Friday? I surely am.

This movie seems like it's going to keep more in line with the comics.

I'm seeing it, the score surprised me, wasn't even expecting this to get above 85%.O_o

Im very interested in seeing it, but will most likely wait until it's released on DVD. I have fond memories of the first one with SLy.Mkavanaugh77

This one will probably be way better. I remember that one being a bit too silly/cartoonish for its own good. This one's similar to those themes, only done right.

Da hell? The trailer had made it look like it was going to be a stupid cash-grab remake. This score is REALLY shocking especially with the number of reviews and considering the original isn't eactly considered a classic movie.

Never seen the original, but this score has peaked my interest. Maybe I will check it out on DVD sometime.

Nope. Not familiar with the IP at all.

Thing is, seeing 3D in the title combined with it being a remake/revamp of an old movie really made me not think this movie would be any good.

Re-watching the trailer, the trailer is not bad like I had remembered though.

Although a long time Dredd fan and it's definitely something I would have seen eventually, that high score has certainly piqued my interest quite a bit more than it was as I wasn't all too impressed with the trailer so I was a little hesitant. It's a shame though that some people think of this as a remake of the dreadful *snicker* Stallone flick as that's akin to thinking the Captain America film was a remake of the earlier Captain films which is just way off base.

however, from the trailers, i have no inclination to watch the movie. just doesnt seem to appeal to me.

may watch it when it comes to on demand, but not gonna spend money to watch it.

WTF? Where did this movie come from and who asked for it? I kind of liked the art style of the first movie though.

I think the overall rating is far more important than the percentage

There's probably an embargo for poor reviews.

It certainly looks better than the Stallone version, but that's not hard. Might be worth seeing at a second-run theater.

WOW, postively gonna watch it.

Going to be awesome. Had zero interest in it when it was first announced but ever since the first really positive reactions from Comic-Con I've kept my eye on it and now that more reviews have come in, tons of buzz from TIFF, and for them to be so positive so far I can't help but be excited. A hype-stylized and action packed R-rated film? Yes please.

The original Dredd was fun, looking forward to this.

I saw it last Friday at my local Imax I really enjoyed it, even low it was made on a shoe string budget it does hold up really well there are a couple off really call scenes when people are high on slowmo. It has a vibe like the Raid about it and I loved that film, Karl Urban is great as Dredd and this is one of only a handful of films where I enjoyed the 3D. Really hope they greenlight a sequel. Solid 8.5/10. support it and SEE IT NAAAAOOOOW !

The comics are great, unfortunately the name became associated with that god awful Stallone film.

Hopefully this film is more like the comics and less like the previous film.

No. Never heard of it until now.

Surprised that it has good reviews, but I don't care enough to see it.

I don't go to movies anymore so no.

It has a 69 on Metacritic atm (my preferred review aggregate) which is still pretty good, so yeah it is higher than I expected and I'm interested. Of course, with the Master coming out if I only have a chance to see one I still know which one I'll choose but both would be good.
