Cutting or removing some or all parts of one's genital organs. Considering there's a crap load of nerves in there and the foreskin goes down naturally during sex, I'd classify it as mutilation.

Still, it does have some advantages, and the negatives are not that important. For that reason, I wouldn't call it mutilation. If the negatives were considerably worse, then I think it would fit the most common definition of mutilation. You are however free to disagree with me.

Wait how could being circumcised prevent HIV and AIDS? If you stick a penis in a vag with the diseases you're bound to get it cut or uncut. Again most studies that support the view that males should be circumcised are American where 75% of the population has been circumcised. While studies from Europe where most of the population have not been circumcised found no correlation between disease prevention and circumcision.

The only reason for it today is for cultural tradition.
