Ed, Edd n' Eddy was basically Cartoon Network's Spongebob right?

Ed, Edd, and Eddy was awful. Not even close to Spongebob in quality.Cube_of_MooN

I enjoy Spongebob and Ed, Edd, and Eddy but can't see how they can be compared to each other.

Ed = Patrick?
Edd = Squidward?
Eddy = Spongebob? 

Ed Edd n Eddy was good, but it's incomparable to Spongebob. It had it's own thing going on that didn't really intersect with Spongebobs style. I honestly don't like most of the shows that much. I usually take the time to watch them, but the only one that kept me entertained was Adventure time and the Amazing World of Gumball for some odd reason. Regular Show was fell flat for me, Chowder was alright but the comedy was stretched thin most of the time, and FlapJack was......eh.

I was more into cartoons and animated shows that had moments of seriousness while also being light hearted and silly at times as well. Shows like Samurai Jack, Teen Titans(and no not that Teen Toddler **** that's on now.), Kids Next Door, and Ben 10 ( both Original season before he grew up and afterwards). Some other cartoons like the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Johnny Bravo, and Courage the Cowardly Dog had the right type of comedy for me. Not alot today really gets me the same way as the shows back then. :(

comedy probably went over your head...

most the jokes were subtle and satirical, requiring outside knowledge.
