Eliminate Racism Forever!

If you had a button that killed all racist people who acted upon their hatred, (KKK or National Socialists) when you pushed it. Would you push it?

- Realize that what you are doing is murder, but the outcome would be a world without racism.

Personally, I'd keep pressing it over and over. I hate racism.

No I wouldn't. They have the same right to believe what anyone else believes. Should they kill one of us for not being racist?

People would just find other reasons to hate people not like them. And people aren't born racist.

It wouldn't really matter; people would just end up formulating their hate in another way.

No because half of the world would drop dead.
Also, people have the right to believe whatever they want even if I may not agree with it.

I would give people who are racist that choice.

The only reason racism exists is because people still think there are actual significant differences between people of different ethnic heritages.

That's going to kill a whole lot of people. I'd say you'd probably kill off more than 3/4 of the people on the planet. Whether one was being racist overtly or through ignorance and naivete most everyone has had a racist thought more than once in their life even if they think it's not.

I don't know where you live, but I live on planet Earth in the year 2009, and unless I've been straight tripping balls for the entirety of my life, racism isn't exactly a fringe phenomenon.

Most people are racist, despite all the self congratulatory bull **** they spout.

So no, I wouldn't push the "kill awwl dose nasty wassists" button, because I don't want to kill myself, and my friends, and my neighbors, and my family, and my boss, and my co-workers, and just about everyone on this forum who has been out of their basement in the past 10 years.

Why? Because I'm not a goddamn maniac who is so obsessed with attaining a perfectly equal world that I'm willing to murder people.

As much as I hate racism I would not murder anybody.We would have to come up with another way to eliminate racism.

No...that would be being just as intolerant as the racist person :? I disagree with them but to sink to that level would just bother me forever.

Racism is very strongly correlated to two things: the amount of education one has received, and the size of the community in which one lives. And these two things are strongly correlated with perhaps the most important factor of all: the amount of interaction a person has with someone who is of another race. Around 80% of people in an urban area report having someone they considered a neighbor who was of a different race; conversely, only around 30% of people in rural communities responded the same way.

Thus, it is very likely that racism derives from one of the most fundamental fears human beings have: the fear of the unknown. You want to eliminate discrimination, then all you have to do is expose those people - preferably as children - to people unlike them, such that they learn early on that there is little difference between them and others who superficially appear different. The idea that removing all racists will rid the world of racism is fundamentally not understanding what breeds racism; it is not exactly their fault that they are racist in the sense that they randomly chose one day to hate or be fearful of people with a different skin color.

yes, i would press it. it gets me a little mad to hear about racist things. my friend says the N word just about every minute :( i allways say that i wish u were in a ghetto and saying that. he would get shot and killed for saying it. i was just watching some jail show on MSNBC and some of the guys had tattoo's of swastika on their arms and heads. i just thought wow a lot of racist people around. xscott1018

Racist people ought to be pitied and, if possible, shown the error of their ways. An eye for an eye (or in this case, a person's entire family for an eye) solves nothing. People who are racist are not racist by choice; as I said before, racism is inextricably linked to a lack of interaction with people of other races, and thus, to a lack of understanding of people of other races. People instinctively fear what they do not understand.

The number of people who would even consider killing people for being racist is a bit disconcerting, I must say. :P
