Eliminate Racism Forever!

For anyone who seriously suggests that would be a "good idea," you have your morals all ****ed up.

As bad as racism is (and it is), murder is simply worse.

Decent point. OK, if I had a button to kill all racist people who ACTED on their hatred, I would press it. If they are just a closet racist that did nothing about it, fine.

That's just selective racism. The individual who joins a racist organization is just more honest and overt with their racist beliefs. The person who thinks having racist thoughts once in awhile and doesn't see it as wrong are just in the closet and afraid of what others may think of them if they become open with their thoughts.

Nope, because then a lot of children would needlessly die. Ever notice most, I'd estimate around 98% of all children would choose a game character the same colour and gender as them? In essence that would be supremacy, ergo a form of racism.

Because then I am punishing a bad cop who shoots a black guy in the back and plants a gun on him, for example.

If killing him for actingout his racismis immoral, then we as a country are immoral for killing death row inmates.

The OP said people who were acting upon it and joining thig's like the KKK, if you have racist thoughts but just keep them inside then you wouldn't go, that would probably be a much smaller amount.

I don't agree that people have a right to be racist. People have taken rights much too far. I shouldn't have the right to believe that racism is right because it makes our society worse. And yes, I'd get of religion too while I'm at it. And I'd get rid of everything else that sets us apart from one another because our differences are what cause us to fight.zombiefruit

No! Racism is not something that would disappear if we killed all racist people, it is actually quite a natural behavior. We can never completely eliminate racism, but we can certainly learn to become more accepting of others. Killing people just seems senseless.

Racism is logical to those who are racist. As I've said numerous times, racism is very closely linked to a lack of exposure to people of other races, and thus, to a lack of understanding. The natural human response to what one does not understand is fear. That is, ultimately, the root of all racism: fear of the unknown.

There is no fundamental divide between racists and non-racists; they are cut from the same cloth, only with different life experiences. The solution to racism is education and inclusion, not to kill the racists (as if there is a "racism gene" that can be eradicated).

As far as I'm concerned a huge portion of a person's personality is a product of their environment, so I'd perceive that as a disturbingly self-righteous thing to do considering that basically the reason that I'm not like them is that I didn't have the life they did.

Also, there are too many factors which make this question rather vague anyway: Are we talking about people who actively engage in violence, or merely people who put on public displays of their ignorance and foolishness? Are we talking about kids who are involved because their parents are? I could probably come up with a hundred more...

Furthermore, that would have tons of unpredictable consequences. As a simple and direct example, what about all of them who were driving a vehicle at the time I pushed the button?

What if a racist just beats a asian guy because he hates his skin colour? What if a black girl is called "monkey" by all the white people on the street? There are hundreds of ways to "act racists" that do not require killing the object of your hate and thus do not deserve to be punished by death

It wouldn't really matter; people would just end up formulating their hate in another way.
