Eminem - Why is he so popular?

Well I am not a big fan of rap, I do like some songs, but never a whole album, that is with exception to eminem.

Even people who don't like rap usually like eminem, I am just wondering why you like him? Or why you think he is so popular?

I guess I like him because his messages are different to a lot of rappers (those I have heard anyway, I havn't looked too deep.) I also really think his voice is pleasant to listion to, and pretty unique to the others I have heard.

Hes popular because he's an amazing lyricist and also very unique with his subject matter.

He's the only rapper I ever really got into. I like some other rap mind you just never got into other rap as much as I have with Eminem.

I think one of the biggest draws for me is his amazing sarcasm which is probably best shown off in Kill You.

Because he's a good rapper that some people can relate too well. I have all his albums, but I do notice a lot of people overrate him.

MM don't rap. He is a hip hop artist, just doing whatever to get money. He is a damn pop artist. Not a rapper. Rap comes from the heart. MM sucksheyfunboy

Considering hes on of the few mainstreme rappers that can actually rap, and do it good at that

the people that don't like rap probably like him cause they're white and so is he :P he's just another popular music artist, there's not too many ways to explain it.

I don't like Rap or Hip-hop, at all really. However, I have more respect for Eminem than most of them because all his songs aren't about **** and hos" and "popping caps in gansta asses" or "My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard" crap.

I'm not saying rap is the only musical style with stupid lyrics, but it's among the worst offenders. Even though I don't like his music, Eminem at least has something to say, so for that I have to respect him.

Talent aside he is seen as "oh my god a good white rapper", talks crap about other celebrities so people who like tabloid nonsense tune in as well and he is offensive enough to have a crowd that finds that appealing since the subject matter is usually different from most mainstream rappers.

I love his stuff but I find it funny how he specifically makes one or two songs per album to get a rise out of the media which I suppose is great marketing at casual fans.
