Metalheads of course have their hair grown, but each person has their own style you know, from every music genre.

No offense or anything man, but the emo style isn t as hot as a lot of people think it is. And ya, i ve tryed dying my hair black, and it s already pretty straight, and it doesn t look all that great as some people might think. Also, imo, it s a sort of over-used hair style and really makes that person less... original. So, if you re going to get "emo" hair, i d suggest going for the whole look (black clothes, black nails, piercings, etc.), but in all honesty, the "punk/emo" look is getting overused...

I think of "Emo" to be more of a Style then a type of person, I think its an Awsome style and alot of people at my school are like that, it seems to be getting more popular, I guess that sounds like I am just doing what everyone says is cool...Well im not, Emo's are really disliked by alot of other people, because of False Stereotype References. But I could careless what other think, its just a style, live with it.

I like some of the styles myself. But a lot of them are kinda over the top, too much work, or just plain don't look good. But you go ahead and do whatever it is you want to do.

I think it's a great look and eventhough so far I haven't fully implemented it, one thing that you will definitely need is a pair of straighteners. Besides that, it's pretty free form, just work an interesting angle and i'm sure you'll get what you like. From there, i'd go into the highlights, but it's best to do the stuff that's easily changable first before you move onto the more permanent things.

You don't need to spend an hour on your hair every day unless it's curly, and depends how. Just do what you want.

My hair is not exactly emo (or scene, as some people call it), or do I wear much of the clothing style, but I know quite a few people who do, and my hair is about the length of most hair styles of that type. My hair is perfectly straight, but you need to wash it good every day or second day, and comb it. Lol, my hair is kind of "messy" too, I used to just mess it with water and hairspray it, and have my bangs combed. Overall depends if you want to spend a while on hair, and if you care for the clothing style too. As I said I don't look emo though, but I do many things with my look that some people may consider to be.

Then go for it. You should prolbably know that i m the kind of person that doesn t like to tamper with what i am (piercings and tattoos are a no for me), and i think that changing your "style" is a little weird. Also, as someone else stated, a lot of people will call you a poser, but if you re doing it for yourself, then go nuts. One question though, why are you trying to "impress youself"?

Also I should add to this, try not to have "basic" emo hair.... that will not be great for going out in public, and so many people over-do the basic hair style (the certain length, black, bangs over half face, that sort of thing), I'm recommending stealing bits of hair styles you like and doing your own thing, that's what I did... but nothing too crazy or incredibly original. Depending on how crazy you're going for this style... some people use eyeliner, though that's not my kind of thing, since this isn't really my style, I'm just myself.

Hehe yea I guess Impress was the wrong word to use, I pretty much agree with you when it comes to pierceings and tattoos, I don't have any either so im a Pretty "Natural" person I guess, I haven't even died my Hair yet once in my life, I just like to try new things once inawhile im not changeing my whole style, which is basicly, Jeans anda T-Shirt with sometimes a Zip-up hoody, I just wanna get a new hair style for "change" I like the Hair Styles that the Emo's/Punk's and I also love Black hair, My current hair colour is Brown which isn't to bad, but you know...you only live once so why not try new things right? Who cares if im called a poser, I have lots friends that would just accept me for who I am, and if they didn't then they wouldn't be much of a friend would they?

Yea I see what you mean, the style I was kinda thinking was to Dye my hair Jet black, keep my bangs short (because im not to fussy with hair in my eyes :P ), get both sides of my hair to be long and Straight, and let the back of my head just kinda be messy, thats probably what im gonna go with, and Im with you when it comes to eye liner, not that big on it myself, but i'll probably give it a try.

[QUOTE="Setsa"]No offense or anything man, but the emo style isn t as hot as a lot of people think it is. And ya, i ve tryed dying my hair black, and it s already pretty straight, and it doesn t look all that great as some people might think. Also, imo, it s a sort of over-used hair style and really makes that person less... original. So, if you re going to get "emo" hair, i d suggest going for the whole look (black clothes, black nails, piercings, etc.), but in all honesty, the "punk/emo" look is getting overused...MidnightSasha

Im not doing it to Impress anyone but "Me" the Important thing is I like it, why would I worry about what others think?

That's the spirit! Good on you.

True, it s just the whole emo look though, it tends to be overdone, that s all. Personaly, i m a big fan of mohawks, so i guess i m sort of in your position, but i guess i let prejudice get in the way. And fyi, if you got light brown hair, you might have some problems when your hair starts to grow again after you dye it, just a heads up :P

I should be fairly safe, my brown hair is pretty dark so I don't think that it will be a problem, thanks for the tip though I never thought of that.

Please don't do emo... Just grow your hair long so you can spike it with 1 meter spikes. That would be awesome.

[QUOTE="Zaeryn"]You don't need to spend an hour on your hair every day unless it's curly, and depends how. Just do what you want.MidnightSasha

Yea mines not really that curly but it isn't really Straight either, Its more like a "Messy" look. :P

Yeah, having both sides of your hair long is definately something that looks cool. My bangs are only down to my lip or so, I just comb it to the right having my entire forehead covered in hair, and kind of flipping out near the right side, if that makes sense. Still growing it though. I'm just kind of sick of hair falling in my face because I hate hair in my eyes. I said in some other thread my hair is sort of like L from Death Note but brown, something like that. Nah, I just have my hair like that, and wear normal jeans and a t-shirt of a punk rock band like anti-flag, or some striped shirts or polo's or something, and some old skate shoes with yellow laces... not too emo lol. I tried a lot of things, but at least I found this to be more presentable in public than having bangs covering an entire side of your face... blah, not a fan of that. Hopefully what I said helped, if I didn't stray too far off topic. It's entirely your decision, find what you like, and hopefully you are fine with that :)

Yea I see what you mean about your hair, hair in the face is deffinatly annoying, I like it at about Eyebrow length and BTW L from Deathnote has pretty sweet hair :P
