I apologize for the length but I want to be clear so that a solution may be found. I have internet service through Insight, and though they advertise ESPN3 as available to their subscribers I was told by a representative (many months ago) that it was not available in my area. I saw a video regarding XBOX 360 and college football on Kotaku today, and as I want to be able to watch football without cable I decided try logging in to ESPN3 on my newly purchased laptop just to see what would happen.

I was asked to pick my internet provider, it then takes me to Insight's website where I register with my e-mail and a password. I am redirected to ESPN3 but in the corner the name says Renee. My name is Mark. It allows me to stream things to my laptop which is nice, but I do not know what the Renee thing is all about.

I log out, go to ESPN3.com and click watch now and it streams right away without signing in. If I sign in and click watch now it has my name in the corner but I am prompted to select my internet provider. Once I do so, a different window pops up allowing me to stream content, but it says Renee in the corner. I don't know if this is a generic account created by Insight, if something is taking place that shouldn't, or what. If anyone has information regarding this I would appreciate it.

do you know anyone named Renee? Might it be a misspelling of someone else's name? If not, call your internet provider and get it sorted out.

I do not. My brother who lives about thirty minutes from me logged in after I called him and told me that it said the same thing, Renee. It may be something specific to Insight customers.

well i have Cox communications and i didnt have to register or anything to access ESPN3 content through Xboxlive on my xbox360. I just log on and it loads up the ESPN app through the dashboard. If i was you I'd call your cable provider's local office near where you live. see what they say.
