[QUOTE="pianist"]

[QUOTE="david_lck"] Yes, its our right as customers to choose whether to pay if the food is not good, except the bailing out part of course! :Pdavid_lck

No it isn't. If you eat their food, then they have taken a loss. Doesn't matter if you liked it or not. You have a right to request it be prepared differently while you are there, and you have the right not to come back if you don't like the place. You don't have a right to decide whether or not to pay when a service is provided to you. That's just stupid.

How'd you feel if you worked for someone and spent your own money in doing so, then he told you he didn't feel like paying you?

Don't know about you, but when a dish is not cooked properly or it tastes almost inedible, customers do have a right to choose not to pay unless they the chef can offer a replacement dish. Watch any of Gordon Ramsey's shows and see for yourself before undermining my post. :roll:

Customers do not have any right whatsoever to NOT pay for a meal they chose to have. The retaurant/manager/chef can choose to comp the meal out of courtesy to try and salvage a customer - but unless they choose to do that - no customer has a right to REFUSE payment for a meal they "didnt like". If the meal was prepared with negligence they can refuse to pay and let the courts decide whether they should or shouldnt but if your only reason was because the meal was not prepared to your liking then they'll just say BUYER BEWARE.

I was joking about the part where I intentionally don't pay at all. For a bet though, I would do it in a heartbeat. david_lck
Grow up. Doing anything like that for a bet is seriously immature. I guess you watch too much south park and jackass.

Was is everybody acting like honest little saints ?

I've run out of restaurants before with out paying, I've gone mailboxing before, I've vandalized, stole and done drugs and all that stuff. I don't do it anymore because I've grown up from days when I was 14. The point I'm trying to make is that everyon is saying running out on the bill is so awful yet I'm sure every one on this site has done their fair share of bad things before.

Wow, man, you're so cool. I can only dream of being as awesome as you are. Wait..

yeah but it took them 1 hour to serve us food, 2 tables got served before us and they sat down 10 minutes later than we did. My Dad also refused to pay at a Diner in New jersey, he said the food was so god damn awful it didn't warrent the full price.

Yes, but only ONCE. The service was absolutely horrid. My waiter never came by to check up on me after giving me my drink. Like, we're talking almost an hour here. I couldn't even flag him down to get my bill so I just said screw it and I left.

Its just for fun, don't tell me you haven't done any dares in your life. And you couldn't be more wrong, as I don't watch those shows.

Nope, I pay for all my meals. Justify it all you want, stealing is stealing. Besides, I know what I want and that I'm paying for decent food.

I have yet to demand for meals to be recooked and reserved, and yeah its only right that you pay when a service is provided for you. You can always not go back to the restaurant after a distasteful meal.

No, and I never will, but I have thought to myself before, "I could so do that right now and get away with it."

No, the worst I've ever done is try to get out of the tip (not enough money) but ended up getting harassed by the waitress on the way out anyway. My friend ended up giving her the last one we had.

I once realised if I payed the full price I would miss out on the movie we were going to see afterwords so I payed a dollar less than I supposed to.
