Yeah, same here.To be honest, a school uniform wouldn't have been that bad for me. It's one less thing to worry about.

Yeah, same here. Really? Cause it would kill me on the inside. No, a CofE comprehensive.[QUOTE="jimmyjammer69"][QUOTE="Travo_basic"] Private school?Crazy_Jane
Aww, me too!
I had to wear a white shirt with a crimson blazer, with a short tartan skirt and knee high socks. What about you?
Yeah, it wasn't far off. The girls didn't have to do the short skirt and knee highs thing here, which is kind of a blessing looking back on the sex scandals the school had.[QUOTE="Travo_basic"][QUOTE="entropyecho"]Yeah, same here. It's a good way of them being able to settle it without much actual attention being devoted to it. But I agree with you wholeheartedly.Yeah, I claim shenanigans on public school self defense rules. If someone starts beating the crap out of you, according to the rules, you let them do it or it's all your fault.

I judge someone on their personality rather than what they wear. Sadly, I've seen several children whose personality depends on their clothes. Kinda sad to me.

I suppose that at least there was no bullying over what we turned up dressed in.

Sadly, I've seen several children whose personality depends on their clothes. Kinda sad to me. But your physical apearance is a big part of you and your personality. But (using sterotypes here) if a nerd wears a plain t shirt and kahki pants, it dosent mean hes boring. Same thing with a sterotypical punk, if hes wearing pericings, black shirt with metal band on it, and chained black pants, it dosent mean hes evil or wierd or crazy. Your opinions are somewhat based on the people around you, hence why in a public school you could depict the jocks from the stoners from the nerds. By clothing and whose around them. So clothes dosent tell people what you are like, it tells them who you hang out with.
What if you hang out with more than one group?Travo_basicmost people dont do that.In the real world, you can wear whatever you want for most places as long as its appropriate. I dont see why schools would do that. School is to prepare people for the working/real world. Confining people to uniforms isnt helping. Its only showing them what worikingat target or wallmart would be like.

Nah dude, my school has a zero tolerance policy on weed and alcohol. You get expelled immediately. 26 kids in my graduating class got expelled senior year for it. Its stupid yeah, but if you know there is a zero tolerance policy, why would you bring it? Idiots

Being forced to wear such vile cute clothing when I was young probably helped to turn me into the woman I am now. Who wears leather skirts, knee high boots and occasionally fangs.

For instance sometimes clothing can be part of what you want to present yourself as.
Lots of times.
But the reasons were stupid, like giving some kid the middle finger when he doesn't know the meaning of shut the hell up, or breaking some kid's nose who thought it was funny to insult and flame me for 2 years straight (he clearly deserved the broken face). I'm out of school now so I don't give a **** about it.
[QUOTE="SeraphimGoddess"]Got into a few fights that were actually one sided beatings if anything. But I gave a few scratches to the other students involved in the midst of an attempted self-defense, so they were able to claim I started it yada yada yada, when they were always the ones who instigated and made the first move. The school faculty didn't take the time to actually care, so everyone got into trouble. A few more incidents like this followed by week long suspensions lead to my parents pulling me out of public school.Bladecutter56

I agree. That's a pretty stupid policy. If someone is punching you in the face you should just take it. I've gotten suspended 2 times for defending myself.Nope, I knew school was important.Travo_basic
I studied and honestly I can't remember half of what I learned (and this is in subjects I was good in)

I just remember the basics. High school was a stepping stone for college to me.I'm surprised. You got off easy. They should have called the police.Have you ever been suspended from school. I just got suspended for 10 days, thats 2 weeks of no school. And i cant make up that work. :( I got suspended for bringing and drinking alcohol in the school. Stupid mistake.
