Well, my point was more about unspoken (or at least not spoken well) rules.  For instance, anything that belongs more in a blog than a forum is locked and seems to deserve it.  Some are hard to describe, but I've yet to personally see one locked that didn't just seem to deserve it.

But I guess they don't seem to need to be locked to a lot of people.  Guess I'm just lucky my self conciousness lines up so well with what the mods think is appropriate. :D masterchief2512

The point that some locked material should be in a blog rather than the forum intrigues me. I might start writing one myself.

I wonder if your blog can be locked "rather pointlessly" as well? Does anyone know?

I'd also like to comment on your "conciousness" if I may. I know you are referring to conscience/morals and that they may align somewhat with the mods thus few locked threads.

So someone uses this "conciousness" to determine if a thread is off topic. My hats off to those who use this well and apply patience and justice in all their policing.

However it can be used wrongly or unjustly. Not everyone has the same viewpoints or opinions. Being an imperfect person someone could just lock a thread based on: unjust assessment, opinion, or strong emotion.

Ah my fellow community members, another thread I was involved in was locked and cast aside!

While I may not agree with the mods reasoning, at least he (maybe she) gave a reason for the locking.

I'm not going to mod you, but I will close the thread, as I feel there's really nothing to discuss here.  Prostitution is illegal because it's a highly immoral act responsible for the transmittal of many diseases and cause of many unwanted pregancies.JustPlainLucas

While I chaff at "nothing really to discuss" the point is valid and reasonable.

I would say this is a positive example of mod power. While he/she did close the thread, we were given a reason and that's what I think should be done in every case of off topic locking.

It is quite a strain sometimes to come up with interesting topics.

I am constantly worried that this tread will end up having a lot of mod bashing.

But sometimes a risk must be taken to bring serious issues to light.

I also still need some more proof of unjust locking if anyone knows of some. If they could post the title of the thread I can analyze it and see if was locked unjustly or not. Thanks in advance!

I can only speculate as to why. Perhaps it was a vaild reason. Maybe personal opinion. I searched the forum for your thread but cant find it are you sure the title was "stop bashing emos"?

It might of been "Teh Emo bashing stops now!" or something...I'll try to find it!!! 

I looked up "Teh Emo bashing stops NOW!!!!!!" thread to see if the locking was "pointless".

While there were some people trying to have a disscustion, the thread seemed to be slipping into random insulting.
