Worst thing ever, first time I had one I nearly exploded holy crap it was so terrible, I am glad that now I know how to stop them cause they're just painful as hell. I feel one coming soon today in my sleep lol.

[QUOTE="BumFluff122"]how do you stop them?Iconic_DI do it by making my foot pull towards my bodyThat doesn't work for me :|
Nasty stuff. I got one in the middle of a swimming pool once and I just panicked. Can't imagine how I'd have reacted out in the ocean. :oYes, while swimming in the ocean.
shoot-first
[QUOTE="PSfanboy101"]yeah i experienced that too, soooo painful. I don't get good sleep after that happens.Yes, I have them in the middle of the night somtimes, I wake up screaming :|

Same, I occasionally had that problem before. However, due to some strange reason. I manage to wake up before it happens so I manage to control or at least stop moving to prevent it from cramping up. If it does happen it doesn't usually bother me that much unlike before. I might have gotten used to cramps. After the ordeal, I try to push/lift my toe up and relieve the pain.

This. OH MAN this. I have had some BAD nights. I'll strech my leg, like point my toes down and BAM, my calf just SEIZES up and locks tight. The pain is so intense. I can barely think and it's one of the few times I ever MEWL like a stuck animal until I can get my hands on it and massage it out.
I usually limp around the next day, too.
Ya its really painful. I just do a silent scream and roll around in bed. Its such a relief when it stops.
But anyone had a jaw cramp? Once i was eating this really huge burger and had to open my mouth really wide, my jaw cramped and i think i had a stupid look on my face as all my friends stared at me funny.
I completely agree. Leg cramps are nothing compared to foot and toe cramps.JML897Nah cause with foot cramps you just bend your toes back to stretch your foot out and it gets rid of it straight away, but with leg cramps stretching it out makes it worse so there's not much you can do :?
i had just paddled about 300 metres to get to a surfspot which left me absolutely dead. The first wave i caught i go extreme leg cramp , as a result i got knocked into the wipeout zone. every time i tried to get back into the safe area id get leg cramp or scrape across the reef or id get almost out and then get dumped by a set. so i had to paddle 300 metres back to the shore
Yep and they're the most painful things I have ever experienced. For about a month I kept waking up at 4am with leg cramps, I couldn't do anything but lay there and clutch my leg.tofu-lion91If you get cramps often it may well be worth going to a doctor. Not picking on you for smoking or anything, but it's listed as the most common risk factor in developing leg cramps.

..and everyone thinks you're a weirdo from making pain noises all of a sudden. >_>wii4pantaLmao yeh...at work a while ago I was reaching up to get something and got a cramp in my leg so I suddenly fell sideways from the shock of it - that must've looked funny
I get them at least once a month. They happen because of dehydration. I get them almost daily during two-a-days.
[QUOTE="jimmyjammer69"] My ex actually had problems with the veins in her legs. It was at least partially hereditary but her GP attributed it to smoking and using the pill. Scary stuff.tofu-lion91If you don't mind me asking, how old is she? I'm riding on the fact I'm still young enough to get away with it :? I don't wanna quit smoking or stop going on the pill. I've heard of a smokers pill but I don't wanna ask my GP incase they stop giving me the normal pill because of my smoking...
She was 22 and had only been on the pill for a year or so (that was her story anyway ;)), so it seems pretty unlikely that was the sole cause. Her mum had also had a lot of problems with her legs, thought they'd only developed when she was about 40. Her GP frightened the crap out of her and she quit smoking pretty sharpish.
We broke up not long after so I don't know how it all panned out. Actually, one of the main reasons we split up was that she was a nightmare to be around once she quit

Thanks for the insight, even thought my family have no history of stuff like that I might actually look into the smokers pill now - I don't wanna get a blood clot in my legs! :? Sorry to hear you guys broke up, it must've been tough for both of you when she quit!We broke up not long after so I don't know how it all panned out.
