I had a kidney transplant about 2 years ago and it was not so bad, but staying more than a week in the hospital was awful, I find it ironic that a place that is meant to make you healthy has such bad quality food. Being hooked up to machines via IV and getting tests every day sucked too, though I avoided being on dialysis which I heard is pretty bad.

I haven't myself but a friend of mine had intestine surgery during which only his lower body was anesthetized so he could watch as the surgeons were messing with his bowel and he felt

"funny down there". and he described the whole thing as "exciting",

Had a pretty bogus car wreck in 2006. Drove a 95 honda prelude(tiny little car) hit some black ice on the road(get it every winter here) lost control and hit a ditch somewhere between 50-65, i cant remember, i was knocked out by the impact. For the most part I was one lucky guy, my seat belt did its job and hadI not had it on, i might not be typing this, anyhow, the steering column broke loose and bashed me in my right knee knocking it out of whack and now i have 3 small pins underneath my knee cap. They suck:D

Yeah, I got a nail removed from my right ringfinger, we were testing something out. One of the most painful things I ever experienced as a kid, second from breaking my finger myself. It wasn't too bad, except I was only sedated in my finger, and not completely asleep, and I was only 6-7 years old, so I cried the entire time, and could hear what the surgeant did with my finger x.x

Well my surgery is nothing compared to the ones already posted, but I had my wisdom teeth pulled about 9 months ago. I was put under, but it was nothing more than a minor surgery. Still hurt like hell after though.

Nope. Worst injury I've ever had was probably soft tissue bruising on my arms that rendered them useless for a few days. Never broken anything or had anything major.

I am lucky enough to have my wisdom teeth grow in well so they dont need to be pulled, my brother went through hell getting his pulled because they didnt give him enough gas or whatever they use to put him out and he woke up during the procedure.

I think the most disturbing thing I had ever heard was from a transvestite who was getting "the operation" and it was describing it in maximum detail. I'm usually not squirmish, but I don't like hearing about things being done to a male urethra.

I've had several.

I had my tonsils taken out. I had my tongue clipped. I've had PE Tubes put in and taken out for my ears. My wisdom teeth taken out. SARPE. Colonoscopy. And lastly I had an upper jaw surgery. I think the worst was probably the colonoscopy. The preparation for it was horrendous. And I remember waking up during one part of it and seeing the screen. Looking into my own butt...awkward. Second worse would be the upper jaw surgery. I remember before going under they were trying to numb me up by tubes going through my nose. Felt like my nose was being broken. Only had to spend a day or so in the hospital afterwards, but when I woke up all I wanted to do was go home. Lots of nose bleeding. Numbness and chapped nostrils/lips lasted several weeks. And a liquid diet for six weeks.

I had my tonsils removed a about 8 years ago when I had repeated tonsillitis. The surgeons knocked two of my teeth out during it though, thank god they were baby teeth.

I also had something done on my kidneys but I can't remember what. I must have only been about 7 or 8. I didn't drink for weeks, so they got pretty badly infected. I had a fever and I was spewing up blood - nice. I was on drips for a while, and had to have lots of those xrays where they inject you with those isotopes that glow.

Ive had far to many surgerys and biopsys. Only one that hurt though (most of em you are put under for), and it was a bone marrow biopsy, where they had a needle put into my back/spine, so the needle was inside of your spine, and then scrapping up little bits. The worst thing about ti was that you have to be awake for this procedure and that was not fun. Just the feeling of a needle inside your spine/bone is gross!

What happens when you're in an airport? I had my wisdom teeth out when I was 15 or 16 and I was put completely under because they were impacted. I had to get them out because my dad was being forced to retire from his company and he wanted to take advantage of their dental plan before he started his own business. The only other time I was in a hospital for my own injuries was when I fell off a tank (at an historic park) and was knocked unconscious...I was like 6 or 7

I've had the following: Toncilectomy,Vasectomy, and my Rotater cuff tear fixed (along with my bursa cleaned and shaved.) I was completely awake when they took out my wisdomteeth. Apparently,12 hour novacane is pretty strong. They drilled bone and everything. However, 12 hours later it hurt like hell and that pill couldn't work fast enough.

They normally use titanium which doesn't go off in the metal detectors at airports.
