One time there was a middle aged lady sitting in the front row and she started to comment on what was being said in a very hostile way.

The cIass was Developmental Psychology and she was criticising Psychology in general. She was saying that Psychology neglects the individual, and that some of its methodology is detrimental, or the way she seemed to put it, unfair or whatever.

Now, mentioning what she said doesnt sound very stupid but she sounded like a person who is out to unveil a huge conspiracy.

Things that are annoying in cIass is when students end the professor's sentences when they might stall a bit. They act as if they are their already their assistants. Or when students nod their head continuously when a professor says something. Of course I do it too a bit in cases where I asked something and the professor responds to me, but that continuous nodding of the head some people do is annoying.

Another annoying thing is when the professor doesnt correct something a student says even though its completely extravagant, simply because its way too extravagant and a facepalm would be more suited. But that only happened in philosophy cIasses. Bleh.

Just this semester in my Political Science class, the same happened with this one guy.

But too bad is first impression isn't too impressive...overweight, greasy....yeah, you get the point. He was like the only guy who actually talked in the class regardless.

Yes! in my philosophy class, there was this girl who sat towards the front of the room and whenever our professor would say something she'd always make a point to try and turn it into some debate with him. I remember this time she tried calling him out on something about the Four Stages of Enlightenment and she basically interrupted his lecture for 20 minutes meaning we had to stay a bit after so we could cover the assignment

Asking questions is great, I do it once in awhile and I think people should. I just think its pretty disrespectful to keep interrupting and act so arrogant in front of the class trying to call the professor out on everything for attention

I've run into quite a few of them.

Even worse, I think, is the kid who offers waytoo much personal information every chance they get. This one kid was notorious for it in my high school and now I have one in my college General Psychology class. We've heard about her brother's rape charges, her mother's drug addiction, her own drug addiction, the time she lost her virginity and a list of the mental disorders she thinks she has.

Sounds like she should be in a mental hospital.

OMG yes, there was this obnoxious girl in my Abnormal Psychology class last semester who kept trying to make the professor look stupid. She'd challenge the professor with multiple questions during every class and it was so obnoxious. She never once made the professor look stupid because in that case the professor was very comptetent and thorough, so I don't know why that student even bothered.t3hrubikscube

Yeah I think it's kind of psychology class thing. Maybe it's because we are discussing cognitions and feelings so much that it turns to either share time or spending time picking at everything the professor says with the guise of it being for "clarification". I'm in the MA program for Clinical Psych. It happens in every class now...

I think I've only come across it once when a professor used a hyperbole to explain the result was an insanely huge number that would require too much computational work....and then one guy missed the point and tried to argue that the hyperbole was incorrect.
