I love these 80's action movies, i cant believe people cant just sit back and enjoy them, their obviously not going to win a globe for best picture they were made for non-stop violence and great action.

Also i would have liked to see Seagal in it but i guess since hes busy teaching Anderson and Machida how to do front kicks he'd be busy,

Also hope Randy is back in it but he might not be able to talk properly anymore

Segal was alright in his heyday, but these days, the only shape he's in is round. The only time he can move fast anymore is probably when he's near the craft services table on set.

Man only Bruce Lee could've made this movie perfect.

But wow, Van Damme, Norris and Stallone???! Quite the cast indeed.

I quite enjoyed the first one, it seemed the professional reception of it was that they got confused it was more a tribute to the 80s flicks. It had flaws but was entertaining.

I look forward to hearing Arnold's one-liners. Hopefully they will be nothing short of Commando quality.

I couldn't put Jackie Chan with this group. He's too family friendly, and couldn't hold a candle next to a group of heavy hitters such as these.

Seeing a bunch of action stars in their late 50, 60s or early 70s all together doesn't do much for me.

Pff...Stallone would rip his throat out and shoot his corpse with an exploding arrow.

pffffffft, Chuck Norris can easily beat all main characters and Antagonists in The Expendables 2 with his bare hands

i do belive you mean bear* hands?

The guy does his own stunts and should be there for comic relief. He is one of the original heavy hitters. Just imagine Jackie Chan kicking ass and shooting people down. Still too family friendly?

Yes, I think so. Having Chan for comic relief would completely throw off the pacing and atmosphere of the movie. I don't even think he kills anyone in most of his movies, at least not in any of them made outside of Hong Kong. Chan just doesn't come off as aggressive the way other martial arts stars such as Jet Li and Tony Jaa do.

Totally disagree, have you seen some of his older movies? Look up some if his one-on-one fight scenes, they're amazing. He doesn't have to be a comic character by any means.

Damn, honestly I can't remember. I just remember that awesome movie or at least I thought it was awesome "Kick Boxer".

Only other movie of his I know is Blood Sport.

Last movie I can think of is Universal Soldier....

That's true, but I think that a good number of people familiar with him stateside--outside of those who's very familiar with his body of work, obviously--relate Chan to basically the Rush Hour movies, Rumble in the Bronx, and the Shanghai films with Owen Wilson. All mostly family-friendly, PG-13 rated movies. Seeing him in something like this is somewhat distracting.

I find it rather funny how 50 and 60 year olds can kick more ass than any Action star today. :P I wish we had more 80 styles Action movies though, they were just awesome.

Hallenbeck77

That's the thing--there isn't a whole lot of action stars in this day and age, save for Li , Staham, and a handful of others. Now, it just actors in action roles.

Statham is enough. That man is stupid talented.

Jackie Chan? Way too comedic for this type of movie, despite being a martial artist. I'm glad Van Damme made it, he was pretty huge back then. But they needed to cover the black action star though. I think Wesley Snipes would fit well.

It's got Stallone so I'll check it out.

Pirate700
this would be me if he was in his prime 80s/mid 90s.. now he is old. The first was alright but it didnt have that 'x factor' for me. Bruce willis is the only action star left which can still pull things off (imo) because it doesnt look like he's aged at all..

He's currently playing "Don't shank the inmate" in federal prison for tax fraud. He won't be out until 2013, at the earliest.

I heard it's a reality thing. About Jackie Chan, I watched interviews of him complimenting Robert Di Nero and saying that he wants to take his acting career in a direction similar to his movies.

I think part of it is also because perhaps his body is finally getting too old to be putting up with all the abuse he's put it through for over 30 years. I noticed he does have a war film coming out, so it'll be interesting to see how it turns out.

I would say over 40 or so. His parents put him in Chinese Opera school or something like that before 10, I think. I saw that he's a new movie, too. That must be it. Though, could be something else. I remember years when he would have 2+ movies. It was awesome. Jackie Chan is a huge inspiration for me. I watched a lot of his movies.

Maybe John Travolta can appear in a movie like this....
