I am going off to college in the fall and having never played my 360 on anything but HD I am considering buying maybe a 32" HDTV for my dorm room. I am planning on spending around $1000 on a TV but my mom and girlfriend keep telling me not to because it could get damaged or stolen. So my question is does anyone have a HDTV in their room and if so are their any bad experiences you have had that would make me think again about buying one?
Get a nice tv ONLY if you either live by yourself, have a responsible roommate or have a roommate that doesn't watch TV. A nice TV is an investment and if you live with a roommate, you assume any damage to any of your property. If anything pay the extra scratch to have the TV insured.
All depends on your roommate and both of your habits. If you lay down an agreement to LOCK THE DOOR when you go out, you will never have a problem. Ever. People who say their TVs and other things have been stolen didn't lock their door. Simple as that. If you're not an idiot, you won't have it stolen. Just make sure your roomie understands.
