Todays Rap is terrible. I agree.
Now there was a time when rap was pretty good. Looking back to MC Hammer and Vanulla Ice. Now its just garbage.

Did...you just say Vanilla Ice was pretty good? :| A crying shame people mention him and Hammer when talking about rap from that era but never Rakim or CL Smooth...
This all coming from a guy who's name is Nickelback4Liferagek1ll589Id fight against you but in these forums it would make a bit of difference
Fact: rock singing takes no talent. When you compare it to Opera singing (not popra) it takes absolutely no effort, training, ability, or talent.Foolz3h
This proves you know nothing about pitch, sound, hitting notes, etc.
When you compare rap to singing, to me it's just fast, you don't even need to belt out an notes...
Guitar, drums, keyboard (and piano) bass, singing etc. all take real talent. Rap takes skill to write, but not to perform. Even rapping on the spot if fairly easy.Nickelback4Life
Nickelback has talent?

Fact: Music of today sucks. That sounds much more fitting.

I happen to love Nickelback ballads.
Not so into their hard stuff, though.
haha people are beggining to admit the truth *puts fist up in triumph*Music nowadays is generally enhanced so it doesn't require as much talent as back in the day. Music will never be the same as it once was.nVidiaGaMer
electro/techno? UP UP AND AWAY!! :D
EDIT : and his post dissappeared!
Fact: The only people that says rap sucks are those who judge the whole genre by what they hear from MTV.hiphops_savioryou cant hear music on MTV everybody knows that
I don't know alot of rap I enjoyed but i do like certain groups like Saul Williams and Busdriver as well as Jurassic Five.

I think rap has also turned to a dirty bad side. For once I want to hear a newer rap some thats not about poping a cap in someones ass or banging three chicks at once. I'd like to hear a song that means something that I can relate to something that's going on in my life. I just see a bunch of people who go around saying, hey guys I know lets make ANOTHER song about pot! Its like the 70's didn't give us enough about drugs.
Fact: The only people that says rap sucks are those who judge the whole genre by what they hear from MTV.hiphops_savior
But I don't watch MTV...and yet I find almost the whole genre terrible and I just can't understand why people can listen to it. I used to listen to it yes, but once I actually understood what they were saying, I instantly stopped listening to it. I switched to rock, and still goin' strong for 10 years now :P
EDIT: And the fact a majority of these people, what I classify as the ghetto part of my school, can't speak any proper english and more...it's almost impossible to explain it. Also it seems all they talk about is sex, drugs, who they "shot" last night rollin' with their gang buddies, say the N word with an A at the end in every sentence they speak. It makes me sick.
