The ironic thing is that you're lowering the lives of those who perished in the Holocaust to those of animals, which is precisely what the Nazis did in order for them to justify their killings.

Woohoo, Godwin's Law!

Not at all, I'm looking at suffering objectively, and reasoning that animals suffer similar to the way humans do. Because so many more animals suffer than humans did in the holocaust, it is worse.

Forest fires are Nazis. They cause so much suffering to animals.

Even if you value an animals life as incredibly unimportant, even a small level of value multiplied by the number of animals who have suffered is far greater than that of the value of the humans who died in the holocaust.SeanDog123
Unless (value per animal life/value per human life)>(number of humans killed by the holocaust/number of animals killed by factory farmers).

*Facepalm*

TC, you are exactly the type of person that makes it hard for me to be an animal sympathizer and believer in animal rights. Your statement is insane and ridiculous to say the least. You sound like someone from PETA which is an organization I cannot stand to the point where my first post after my introduction on my blog (link in my sig if you want to read) was a rant on why I wish PETA would just stop.

Making such ludicrous statements simply makes us sane animal rights people look looney when we are grouped together. You do so much more harm than good when saying stuff like this as you make the movement out to be crazy and make it so people just can't take it seriously.

Factory farming may not be pretty but just like animal testing it is a very neccessary evil to sustain the massive human population. I hate the idea that animals are raised just to be slaughtered but the fact is that people need to eat and there are soo many people that traditional farming just won't meet demand anymore. As long as every measure is put in place to eliminate/minimize any suffering the animals go through then factory farms and animal testing facilities should be free to continue.

Remember, every living thing on this planet needs to consume energy from some source. People need meat and factory farms are what it takes to meet those demands. Want to end the factory farms? Well go get a bunch of new farms started to keep up supply while simultaneously eliminating as many people as you can to put to bring down the demand. Not such a great idea is it?

I remember a time when humans used to be livestock...

Im pretty sure if slavery was still legal, alot of humans would be factory farmed.

Gotta admit, he does have a point. To say animals don't feel what humans feel is ridiculous.. We are just animals with higher intelligence to understand whats around us. But at the end of the day our emotions and feelings come down to basic animal instincts

I think you can't possibly compare the value of human life to a farm animal, even if both are capable of suffering. Actually the animals would not even exist if it wasn't for the farms.

While it would be nice to have all our animal stock reared in wide, lush meadows, this reality is simply implausible.
