Family Guy Nominated For Best Comedy At Emmy Awards

According to this article on Yahoo, Family Guy has been Nominated this year for Outstanding Comedy Series. The last time an animated show was nominated was back in 1961 when The Flintstones was nominated. What some people are probably wondering is how come The Simpsons were never nominated after 20 years on the air?

Personally, I think that this show was nominated only to get young people to watch the Emmys; this show is underserving of a nomination, but that's just my opinion. What's your take? Well deserved, or one HELL of a fluke?

FM was good till season 3-6, 1-2 and 7+ are rubbish imo.

The Simpsons in its prime is much better then Family Guy. Family Guy is also going downhill so I don't understand why they are nominating it now instead of when it was at its peak of hilarity.xTheExploited

If the older episodes of Family Guy (seasons 1-3) got nominated, I wouldn't complain, but considering how badly family Guy sucks now, I don't think it does deserve it. Then again, Alot of things on TV suck now, so meh...

My question is how the hell did Family Guy get nominated for Best Comedy when it didn't even get nominated for Best Animated series? When you look at it, all the shows nominated for Best Animated are also comedies, and yet Family Guy got nominated over them...

Family Guy got progressively better throughtout seasons 1 -2, dropped a little in quality in season 3 (although it still had it's moments) and then just got progressively worse after that. It's truly terrible now. It doesn't deserve anything.

I'd like Flight of the Conchords to win - although season 2 was nowhere near as good as the first.

Family guy was funny around the middle episodes, after that, it began to go downhil, and more offensive. (i know it was ALWAYS offensive)

Family Guy had a lot of great moments before it got cancelled. But ever since they brought it back, it has sucked. But this is like a lot of things... they probably got nominated because there just isn't much to nominate.
