Father kills son over video game dispute.

Need more information :| we have no idea of the build up, it could be another one of these cases where video games are getting the blame.

Ok I found the story on another site, basically its far too easy for any idiot to get a gun in America (this guy had a criminal record prior and still had a gun).

what the hecks going on with people today. shooting his own son?!.

And people go on about how videogames are negatively affecting teenagers.

It's taking every bit of restraint I've got to not make a joke about health pickups.

When Ortero began loading his gun, police said the couple's 17-year-old sun intervened.

so, it wasnt just him killing his son over a video game, it was him being drunk and argumentative and taking what is most likely years of anger and using it to fuel his rage over not being able to find a PSP (at least thats what it says in one article), so he goes off on one and starts loading his gun, his son tries to stop him and gets shot in the neck.

sure this is a terrible thing to happen, but surely the fact that he was drunk was more relevant that the fact that he was arguing over his PSP, he would have obviously started arguing over anything that he could find that annoyed him, it seems the media just wants to jump on the "video games are bad" band wagon.

I feel terrible for laughing at the jokes :P

That is pretty sad though.

It seems every few months theres some rage murder related to gaming.

And of course everyone blames the games for causing them because they have such violent content.

There's a huge difference between someone that plays a few hours a day and on weekends and someone who's personal life is a complete disaster and they play games 20 hours a day. I'm thinking the dad was the latter.
