Some of my favorite musicians are of the Indie Rock genre but that doesn't mean I like the genre as a whole. Think Sufjan Stevens.

Classic or blues.

I'm partial to prog rock and symphonic metal. Or really most forms of metal that don't utilize death growls/screaming for their vocals.

Just classic rock in general (Journey, Boston, etc. etc.)

Symphonic, Power, and Progressive metal are all about equal with me.

By definition metal is a sub-genre of rock so I'll say metal. Although I think metal should be a genre in it's own, being that it has over a hundred different sub-genres, and at the roots when metal first started it was a sub-genre of rock ,but now I think that metal has progressed to be differene enough to call its own genre, metal is to rock as rock is to blues, and rock is considered it's own genre not a sub-genre of blues. Either way. it's another trivial matter that doesn't effect my life for good or bad so the fact that I put that much thought into it is kinda silly too.

Symphonic Metal for me. I like the Symphonic and Melodic variants of most Metal subgenres.
