[QUOTE="chessmaster1989"]Death metal definitely.Bluestorm-Kalas

I remember when Black was your fav genre, and that wasn't too long ago, glad to see you back to the brutal gory side. :twisted: Screw the cold satanic forest covered mountains. :P

Black is cool but been finding death metal more fun of late. Especially older death metal that is more thrashy. Honestly I got a little bored with black metal, maybe just need to expand the number of artists. :P

I'm partial to prog rock and symphonic metal. Or really most forms of metal that don't utilize death growls/screaming for their vocals.

Same except for the prog rock thing, I don't even know what that is.

Here, I'll help you out.

Prog ("Progressive") rock is basically rock that doesn't adhere to your typical commercial song cliches, and rather tries to "progress" the genre. Progressive rock songs are often experimental in nature, and are often much longer than your standard 2-3 minute commercial songs that you hear on the radio. Notable prog rock bands in history include Pink Floyd, Rush, Genesis, King Crimson, and Jethro Tull.

Here are some songs by those bands to see if you're interested:

Pink Floyd - Echoes(part 2)

Rush - 2112 (part 2, part 3)

Genesis - The Musical Box

King Crimson - Epitaph

Jethro Tull - Aqualung

I'm quite a fan of Emo and Gothic rock. Something about the strong, emotional lyrics and the scent of depravity I find appealing, although it's not just about that. When it comes to music i'm a very versatile listener, but most the time I listen to emo, mainly the more chilled out side to it, not so much the screamo although there are a few select tracks from that side of things I also like.

As for Gothic rock, it doesn't seem to age like other types of music. I don't ever tire of it like I do with stuff from bands like 'The Muse' (as much as I used to like them). Gothic rock just... I don't know.. It's like it's more personal, like it's sung to you and not to the masses. It's in a world of it's own, and I like it.

I love Harold more than anything. Also, I am against using 'labels' to define rocks. It completely destroys any sense of individualness that a particular rock may have.

Classic rock

I enjoy some progressive rock as the soundscapes can be fascinating, but I don't care most prog rock lyrics. They seem detached, unrelatable and pretentious most of the time.
