I take it you don't listen to Dream Theater. Thing is with me. The music I listen to is able to keep me engaged for up to 30 mminutes. In a single song. The one I listed goes for 25ummm ... my patience runs out after 4-5 mins with a single song , but i can reapeatedly listen to same song for 30 hours at a stretch or on a loop :)

In fact, this thread was originally going to be "Favorite 20+ minute song". But then I remembered. Not many people here like my music

Its hard to pull off a song upwards of 10mins and keep interest, but as no-ones posting any disco (I imagine)I'll post this 1979 Italia-disco classichttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1nJi359piE(sorry - can't seem to hotlink)
And I'll whack in the Patrick Cowley remixhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPUdZRsPwG4,,,not that anoyone cares about disco anyway :P

Not as of yet. I'd love to though. Me and my friend have something of an unofficial musical project going on. We haven't finalized a name so we're just going by "Mammal Fish" 'till we think of something good. We're both working on our vocals. And I'm learning the guitar. Shall be good. Also, if you're interested in checking out Dream Theater I'd recommend "Pull Me Under" as your first listen. Probably their most popular song and a good way to introduce people. :)The Mars Volta - Tetragrammaton
The Mars Volta - Meccamputechture
Sigur Rós - Untitled 8 (Popplagið)

I'll be checking out Dream theatre's Pull me under shortly on youtube , thanks for the recommendation :)
Man there are a lot of candidates... I can only narrow it down to a few :
1) Mesa Verde - Post-Youth
2) BTBAM - sun of nothing
3) Fall of efrafa - Beyond the veil
4) X japan - Art of life
But tbh most of my favorite songs are less than 10 minutes.

Oh, and for all the death metal fans:
Keep of Kalessin - Reptilian Majesty
Moonsorrow - Jäästä Syntynyt-Varjojen Virta, which unfortunately is split up into 3 ten-minute parts on youtube, so if you do decide to listen to it, and want to hear the entire 30 minute song, just follow the links...
Do you guys actually sit and listen to the entire song or do you guys just leave it as a background music?Lonelynight
Many of these songs are so engaging, it's almost as though they demand you sit and listen to them in their entirety. Twenty minutes will go by, and I find myself saying, "It's been over 20 minutes?!" These songs aren't long just for the sake of being long; it's very easy to get lost in this music.
