I personally love Boston. I have been to New York city a few times but I always find it a bit overwhelming. I also quite like Raleigh. North Carolina. I have been told by friends that Chicago, and Minneapolis are great cities too.

As a Bostonian I have to say Boston.

from one bostonian to another bostonian, I agree with your statement.

This is a pretty hard question to answer. I might not be able to decide in the end. Here are a few candidates though:
I'd love to put Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on there as well. I love visiting for the historical sites and the cheesesteak. Unfortunately, I hate the other aspects of that city enough to make me feel a bit dishonest for listing it as a favorite.
Only one I go to is Newark. Which I do tend to enjoy my time there fastesttruckonly one you go to... meaning you keep visiting the same city over and over?
I really havent been to very many big cities, sadly enough. I love Chicago though and would like to visit NY, LA, SF, OK City and Austin.
I live in Ohio and have been to all the big cities here. I live an the Dayton/ Cinci area. They're kind of crappy but I love them from growing up here. Covington is pretty cool...feels a little bit like part of Cinci to me.
It's funny how the bridge leading from Cinci to Kentucky (Covington) is such an accent boarder.
I've been to most of the major cities and I have to say that my favorite is the one I've grown up in, Seattle. I've also found a general consensus of other backpackers/travellers I've met who've been through there also put it as the one city in America they'd love to settle down and live in.
So maybe it's not neccesarily the best city for a weekend getaway or tourism, but overall liveability is pretty decent

i have not been to very many cities at all, so out of the ones i have experience with, i'm gonna go with.... Panama City, Florida :D
yeah. i live in the bay area. sf isn't a place you want to live in if you aren't use to hanging around crazies. i'd put sf right under Long Beach as the best in california. I put Long Beach over all cities in the country.San Francisco is a great place to visit, I wouldn't live there though.

Cheyenne, Wyoming.
It's adorable because it's trying to be a big city even though it's in Wyoming, so it's totally impossible to be a big city.
I'd probably say San Francisco, but I havn't been there in over a decade. Miami is alright; there is certainly a lot to do but I hate driving down there. I like Ft. Lauderdale a bit more than Miami, it's like an abreviated version and I prefer Las Olas to South Beach. Orlando has come a long way from it's theme park roots and it's not a bad place to live from what I hear. Atlanta is probably the largest city I've been to and while I liked the outer laying suburbs, the city itself wasn't as peachy (pun intended). Denver is really nice, but it's just too quiet for it's size. San Antonio has a great mall but I've never been as cold as I was there.
I think that wraps up all the cities that left an impression on me. I've lived in Florida for most my life so I'd say that the whole South Florida area is my favorite since an exotic vacation is never too far away.
