Some very excellent bands indeed but your lack of 80's alternative shocked me, no love for The Smiths, R.E.M...ect? And no Sonic Youth!!! :P

I am more into 90s alternative to be honest, didnt get into 80s alternative as much. I welcome some suggestions though I already know the bands you mentioned. I forgot to add Nick Cave and the bad seeds:P

I was loose with my definition of 80's. Most of the bands there started in the 70's...

Wiki says they were both formed in '88, not that it means anything....
