[QUOTE="Makhaidos"]Blueberry juice. Those carbonated cans of pisswater don't give energy; they give a sugar high.foxhound_fox

sugar high?

In a 16oz (473ml) can of Monster there is 54g of sugar. There is 53g in 500ml of Coke. Combined with the high levels of caffeine and guarana, this causes a huge sugar rush that results in a crash a couple hours later. Sugar-free versions don't suffer this issue.

I knew a dumb guy once and he thought that the enrgy in energy drinks was caused by the kilojuoles and not the chemicals.

[QUOTE="AmazonTreeBoa"]This is my favorite. But that may change once I get my mountain bike because I am going to try Gu Energy Gel.AmazonTreeBoa
For those that have no tried this. It taste just like vanilla pudding and it is thicker like a protein shake, not like the coffee Monsters. I don't drink them often, but with such an awesome flavor, they are hard to stay away from.

I'd love to try this.

Lol, kJ are a measurement of energy. And calories give the body energy. If anything, a sugar-free "energy" drink can't be called as such. :P

I thought most researches found no evidence to support the existence of sugar rushes/highs. It's more likely that the high level of caffeine, especially if the energy drink is small and concentrated, will result in that state.

Red Bull, simply because it has pulled me through some rough times and I enjoy it. Had a paper due at the end of my junior year in college for modern militart history. I worked on it endlessly for the final three days. During that time I got a total of 8 hours of sleep. All thanks to Red Bull.

My ability to form complete sentences though was significantly impaired. I consumed like 15 cans or more during that time.

I can attest to the crash. Most energy drinks contain as much or less caffeine than most coffees of the same volume. I drink coffee on a regular basis and never have a "crash" like I do on sugared energy drinks. Same goes for sugar-free energy drinks, no crash. I get the same feeling from drinking a lot of pop.

I don't like energy drinks. I've tried one a couple times, don't seem to do anything. And they kinda taste lousy, too.

This is somewhat true, although the 'crash' is largely dependent on the individual. Caffeine, taurine, and guarana are where the energy comes from.

Easily the best tasting energy drink I have ever had in my life, if they made a soft drink that tasted this good it would replace every sugary fizzy drink in my fridge.

My personal moral is that if you're looking for good flavour in energy drinks, you're doing it wrong, but some definitely taste better than others. I was never a fan of V though. Monster and sometimes Rockstar (if they're cheap) is my only choice.

That new Red Bull Zero isn't too bad. I really don't drink many to begin with... maybe one like one every 3-6 months at most just for something different. I guess before that regular red bull.

Either you've never tried coffee or you don't know what the word "sweet" means.

Or I don't consider coffee to be an "energy drink". Didn't consider that option, DID YOU?!

I hate them all. I used to drink them back in high school because I liked the super sweet taste, but it never gave me anything that could be considered an energy boost, if anything, it made me feel worse. I drink water almost exclusively now, occasionally I'll have orange juice, ginger beer or some alcoholic beverage, but never anything labeled as an energy drink.

I'm the same. They make you me feel kinda sick, so I mainly stick to water and juice I think they give you feel more energetic anyway :p
