and what's this about calling Lady Gaga an imitator, she's awesome. she is the anti-babyboom generation contemporary, and what more can we ask for.

I'm not saying Lady Gaga is bad, but I don't see how anybody can deny that she's sort of a Madonna biter.
I'm not saying there's nothing unique about her, but she's pretty much imitating Madonna's career patterns, phases, and images.
I really don't get the whole Lady Gaga=Madonna thing. I can think of 3-4 strong similarities between them, but not enough for Gaga to get the OMG she's a Madonna copycat reaction so many people have towards her. If the worst people can say is that she's Madonna 2.0 then I guess thats not so bad because Madonna's pretty freakin awesome even if she hasn't done anything really interesting in the past 10 or so years.Well, the thing is, Lady Gaga said that she's the second revolution of pop and Madonna was the first, but you can't really make that claim if you're retreading the first revolution.
And I just think she's going to have to break out of the Madonna formula for the sake of her own legacy.
When she first came on the scene, people were talking about how fresh she was and now people are start to snicker at all the Madonna biting.
I mean, Bad Romance and Speecless prove that she's capable of some fantastic stuff and very talented, but the Madonna formula has all ready been done, though to Gaga's credit, she does sort of push the Madonna formula to extremes. And is a bit more edgy (though she'll never be as shocking as Madonna was in relation to her era).
But soon she won't be able to get any more mileage out of that and people will begin to expect more.
You're much more open-minded toward pop than I thought, 8)Those are all great songs.

Oh, I was always open to pop. Just not the crappy, shallow, generic pop we have nowadays.
Everytime I refered to commercial music in the other thread, I was referring to today's pop. The commercial music the 80's had is f'n godly compared to what the radios play today.
