Washington. Elected and re-elected with 100% of the electoral vote (no one has done that since). They wanted to make the guy a king, and he turned them down.

yeah that cannot be understated really.

George Washington. Like someone said earlier, he had to the power to take over and declare himself king at the end of the war. He was even encouraged to do so by some of his staff. Yet he still gave up power. He turned down ruling an entire country all out of love for his ideals and nation. That and the fact he kinda did it again when he stepped down from being president? Well yeah, that's badass.

FDR, TR, JFK, and Lincoln are all my favorite Presidents, with Washington and Jefferson being runners up.

FDR. His list of accomplishments is too long and I don't feel like putting it all in here. Look it up for yourself.

FDR

He helped us get through much of WW2 and it was his economic plan that improved the economy up until WW2. From 1934 unemployment dropped and GDP rose until 1938 when congress convinced him to cut spending and lower the debt. That caused the economy to contract until he went back to doing the right thing. GDP continued to rise and unemployment continued to drop at a steady rate until 1942when the economy started juicing on steroids.

Besides Lincoln, FDR was the most important president this country ever had.
