[QUOTE="Rikardur"]Thrash is one of those metal genres I never really got into
But i do like a black/thrash metal band called Destroyer 666 if that counts :)
Efielret
I guess it counts, seeing as Demolition Hammer is death/thrash.
Just like Children of Bodom incorporates melodic, thrash, speed, power, extreme and neo-classic metal styles. :PDon't listen to pure trash but As I Lay Dying has also trash in their new album.rom11yeah... I've been listening to a lot of hardcore/thrash incorporated metalcore lately. AILD, All That Remains,Atreyu, The Autumn Offering, Avenged Sevenfold, From Autumn To Ashes (my new favorite band), Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall, Still Remains.
[QUOTE="Bloodaxe726"]I have to go with Children of Bodom and Slayer.MissRiotmakerAgreed. Sepultura is good too.
Sepultura rules, have you heard The Cavalera Conspiracy?

I have all their albums. Roorback is still my favorite with Mindwar and the cover for Bullet the Blue Sky. :oDon't listen to pure trash but As I Lay Dying has also trash in their new album.rom11
Me neither. I've never heard of most of the bands on this page, though I've heard the big four and like all of them. I'm more into bands that mix it up, like progressive metal/hardcore like Mastodon or Refused.

Did you ever listen to Arsis?
Anyway, favorite thrash band ... probably Metal Church.

Fair enough. Let me know what you think when you listen.
Will do, sah!My favorite thrash metal band is the kind that plays with their amplifiers off behind a sound proof brick wall.TallicaFan2005
TallicaFan, I can only assume that's Metallica, who happens to be Thrash Metal

I used to like them, but honestly the stuff is crap. All of it.
[QUOTE="Thyeora"]A few people said CoB but, although I love them, I never really thought of them as thrash. I happen to enjoy some good Testament now and again.SimpJee
Me either, I see them as melodic death metal. Or power metal.
I wouldnt say power metal, but EXTREME POWER METAL....suits it better :)

That's what I thought. I listened to them back in Follow the Reaper. Such a superb album. It sounds to me like they have begun using some of the methods they used to use on their new album and that makes me happy.

Furtive Monologue by Despised Icon is one of the most insane songs I have heard in a long time and Messengers (ABR) is a great album.

They haven't entirely returned to that sound but they seem to have combined the heavier sounds of Hatecrew Deathroll/Are You Dead Yet? and the melodic sound from their earlier stuff. I haven't heard the whole CD yet but the two songs I have heard (Banned From Heaven and Blooddrunk) are a great improvement from Are You Dead Yet? You can find the both on youtube I think.
