I was blown away by Unforgiven when I saw that. Fantastic movie. I also have to say The Magnificent Seven comes to mind.

No, it's not.

I think it can be seen as a modern Western as it is set in a dry desolate landscape, closer to South West?, and more importantly because it is about changing social issues in America, specifically the failure of law enforcement and the decline of social values in a postwar context- both common issues yes, but reoccurring ones in the Western genre.

I agree. I don't really think it would classify as a Western movie, but then again what really classifies a movie as a Western? They do where cowboy hats, but they don't ride horses! lol . Jokes aside, I think that movie is a little too modern to be put in the category of a Western imo.

I actually haven't seen many westerns at all, but these two were simply amazing.

Some of the great, older westerns such as The Outlaw Josey Wales, Pale Rider and The Wild Bunch come to mind.

Pale Rider takes it for me. I also like Tombstone (I'm I the only one who loves this movie?) High Plains Drifter, Fistfull of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More.

Once Upon a Time In the West. The showdown at the end is too epic for words.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly Nobody is a bigger badass in the history of badasses than Eastwood. I think Chuck Norris has a gold statue of him to worship.

Just saw The Good The Bad The Weird. Great movie I'd say its my favorite western (eastern?) even though I've only seen that and the Clint Eastwood ones.

Once Upon a Time In the West. I love the scene where they make him watch his brother die.

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. I don't watch many westerns, but this one is absolutely fantastic.
