I don't listen to a massive amount of blues-rock but there are plenty of songs out there that I love to listen to and also play. Off the top of my head I would say my favourites are probably Pilgrim by Eric Clapton, Still got the blues and Spanish Guitars by Gary Moore. Who are OT's favourite musicians? What are your favourite songs?

I'm pretty sure some of those bands have no blues sound in them.

I don't care.

If we're looking for blues then Rory Gallagher.

Grunge has a heavy blues influence, but alternative...not so much. Either way I agree that those bands are not very blues like.

Eric C. Gets my pick

If just blues then I will have to go with Mississippi Blues artist Robert Johnson and he is also one of the best guitar players overall. Then I would take B B King.

Eric Clapton. I bet some people here are going to mention artsists such as Muddy Waters and mix up blues-rock with traditional blues.

Clapton is a good choice, yeah. Tom Waits would be my top pick though.

Cream is definitely some pretty awesome blues-rock/proto-metal stuff.

Choosing Clapton would include Cream.
