My mom forced me to watch most of them as well. One I was really adamant against was Princess Mononoke. Now its one of my favourite all time films

Its a Hiyo Miyazaki film (or however its pronounced). He made Spirited away and Howls moving castle and such. Princess Mononoke is his best though, no anime cuteness going on.

Pretty much the main character is cursed by a demon pig thing. The curse slowly kills him, but also gives him some of the power of a demon if he gives into his anger (kinda sith like, but better). When this happens he goes all awesome like and does some really cool stuff (beheading enemies and chopping off arms etc.). So he goes off on a journey from where the demon is from to try and get rid of his curse. It has a really good story (What i explained is only the first part of it) and it has some good original characters and animation. Its a must see imo

Oh my God. This By far.

It's funny I watched it last week and it still freaked me out at times. Especially that evil rabbit The General. I love that song Bright eyes by Art Garfunkle that was used in the film. Today I can appreciate the cool death symbolism in the film. I enjoyed the book too.

http://www.pastemagazine.com/blogs/lists/2008/12/15/watership-down.jpg

He still haunts my dreams:cry: I also grew up on The Animals of Farthing wood:D

http://cdn1.ioffer.com/img/item/109/710/549/zcFK1iDiqQJz3gc.jpg

I still feel sad when I think of what happened to poor badger:( I never read the book though. It's funny the kid's movies I grew up would not be considered for kids these days to some people. Heck I also grew up watching the film Plague dogs where a guy gets shot in the face by his own shotgun.

Exactly my point. And to think that kids get to play games like GTA, Resident evil or Dead Space, and there are people who freak out over that. I don't think either The Animals of Farthing Wood or Watership Down made me an insane killer D:

They really were quite violent. I remember the first time I watched the Animals of farthing wood I loved the little hedgehogs. Then one got hit by a damn truck:o Then I moved on to the cute pheasant couple for my loveable animal fix. I loved how he was always nervous, as I kid that made me smile. Then his wife got shot and eaten:cry: That show was amazing but it was horrific at times. Oh god the worst though was when the mice had new babies, who were so adorable and sweet. Then a evil bird grabbed them and speared them on tree branches for the hell of it.

What about Weasel who left her babies and her husband? Or when Adder betrayed them all  Luckily I can't remember all of it. Just as well, I don't think I want to remember.

I don't know if anyone knows this film, but War of The Birds is another violent, twisted movie I grew up with. Two chicks get orphaned, and they are raised by a drunk owl and a moronic mother bird of some other species. The two chicks aren't of the same species, and the girl chick starts hitting on the boy chick, which could be both incestuous and sexual harrasment, as he does not agree with it and they are step-siblings.They also swear a lot, they burn down a forest and they kill a vulture, to get revenge.

Do I smell terrorism movie? By the way, it's made in the early 90's by A Film (at least I think so, they made Hugo and all the other 'known' cartoons from Denmark)

I love that movie to bits.

I used to love that movie too though I remember it had a pulp fiction reference I didnt get until years later. To this day I am confused as to why the hell that movie reference Pulp Fiction. I also used to quite enjoy Muppet Treasure island.

I always enjoyed Mary Poppins on VHS, but my favorite childhood movie that I actually saw in theaters first was Home Alone. Learned later about "bad language" when I quoted something from it that made adults balk.

The Page Master was one of the best american movies that weren't Disney that I saw as a kid, even if I don't like Macaulay Culkin. Never heard of Plague Dogs, I'll try my local library.

The entire exchange between Johnny and Snakes in the "Angels with Filthy Souls" movie that Kevin was watching. My mind was... and still is in many ways, a sponge.
