Don't know if Ville Valo counts, if not then Aaron Stainthorpe.

You're all suddenly migrating over here. Pretty cool beans. And I agree with Aaron, amazing voice. I probably prefer the dude from Draconian over him though.
Yeah, decided I'd expand my horizons beyond the oft inactive walls of the AU.
Haven't heard any Draconian, will have to give them a listen.

Definately do. They utilise a female vocalist as well to some amazing effect I believe. One of the big bands I was listening to in my Doom phase.

Excellent. Hey, have you heard of a band called Nicodemus, they've broken up and moved onto something new since, but I love their music, their one album I have 'Vanity is a Virtue' is so good, the lead singer is also an amazing vocalist.

Can't say I've heard of them. Gimme a minute.
Okay, just listened to Next in Nocturne, musically it is amazing. Great bass and piano work. Clean vocals are not really my thing. Not the worst I've heard *coughCOHEEDANDCAMBIRAcough* but not the best. Almost a bit cliched. Tolerable would best desribe it. Harsh vocals, love the overlaying work. I shall check out more of their work. Thanks for the recommendation.

No problem, glad to share some music. I love his voice because it reminds me of a metal version of Simon LeBon (lead singer of Duran Duran), but yeah musically it's fantastic stuff.

 Never thought of it that way. If you want another band to check out look up Nightingale, early on they did sorta gothic rock but turned to a more prog rock. Vocalist/guitarist is Dan Swano from Edge of Sanity, prog death band, and he also has his solo album which many (including myself) refer to as "if Rush played death metal". The album The Breathing Shadow would probably be my favourite, great stuff.
I'd like to add Christian Alveson (sp?), he was the vocalist for Scar Symmetry up until a little while ago. Paladin_KingI have to agree. The guy had an amazing voice. It was a shame to see him go.

Shows how awesome he is when the only way the band can replace him...is by hiring TWO vocalists lol.

I think he said metal. :P
I'd go with Akerfeldt (Opeth, Bloodbath) , Nergal (Behemoth), Peter Tagtgren (Hypocrisy, Pain, Bloodbath, etc.), a few others, and of course:
V.I.T.R.I.O.L. (Dave Hunt) from Anaal Nathrakh and Mistress. I'd like to see someone try to replicate his vox.
Mike Patton is quite notable too. He did voice acting for the game The Darkness as well.
[QUOTE="cheetah_TM"]Opeth's singer..I'm not into Black/Death Metal, but Opeth is amazing.Epak_
I like him more in Bloodbath... :)
He's great in both (and both are great). His vocals are more varied in Opeth though, which is why I prefer him there too.[QUOTE="Epak_"][QUOTE="cheetah_TM"]Opeth's singer..I'm not into Black/Death Metal, but Opeth is amazing.Saturos3091

What, in the name of all things holy, was that? People honestly consider someone growling on a mic to be good? Yeesh.he's not my favorite (just saw this vid yesterday) but wow, this guy is good.

I hope he becomes The Faceless' new vox (old guy is going to college, I guess you can call him one of my faves)

[QUOTE="DjCristii"]Oli SykesaaronmullanThat makes me a sad panda.. Why? What's wrong with Oli Sykes that's different than the rest of the growl crew?
[QUOTE="MarioRPGer"]SerjPaladin_KingA hell of a lot better than Daron, that's for sure.Daron's by itself is annoying as hell but I like when they harmonize.

Stu Block of Into Eternity. This guy has a huge range and a variety of styles.
Hansi Kursch of Blind Guardian. This guy is epic. Nuff Said.
and my personal favourite... Matt Barlow of Iced Earth!Severed_Hand
I like your choice in music. Iced Earth, Blind Guardian and presumedly Demons and Wizards.
