How is that politically absurd? He's the best republican candidate and I believe would be a far better president than Obama.
Like an actor winning the presidency after only 8 years of governorship? :Pmajoras_wrath
But...Reagan had been governor of California before becoming President. He was chief executive of the most populous state in the country for 8 years. None of Obama's experience is comparable to that.
He was a state legislator, then a US senator for 3 years before being elected President. You'd be hard pressed to find a president who ascended to the position from more obscure origins.
George W. Bush governed Texas
Bill Clinton governed Arkansas and was attorney general of Arkansas before that.
George HW Bush was Vice President for 8 years, was a US senator, and was Ambassador to the UN and Ambassador to China
Ronald Reagan governed California for 8 years.
Jimmy Carter governed Georgia.
Gerald Ford had a lengthy congressional career and was Vice President before becoming president.
Richard Nixon was Vice President for 8 years and served in both houses of congress before that.
Lyndon Johnson was Vice President, Senate Majority leader and minority leader, and had served in the House before that.
You'd have to go back quite far to find someone less experienced in politics than Obama.

Read over the progression of the conversation and you'll find out.

No, speak frankly---and clearly---or be quiet.
Nah, I think I like this conversation just the way it is.
Romney has the best shot at defeating Obama, so, that's swell news more or less.Stevo_the_gamerYou know I was listening to NPR the other day and someone made the point that if all you are worried about is beating Obama then Romney is most likely your guy, but what of actually doing the job? Who do you think is best qualified for that among the republican field?

Compared to Santorum or Gingrich, absolutely. Compared to Paul, depends on political alignment.

yeah okay there buddy
Says who? You mean to tell me a man who prior to becoming a governor had almost no political experience has more equipment to handle the presidency then a man who graduated from Harvard Law, served as President of Harvard Law Review, taught Con. Law at University of Chicago for 12 years, had hands-on community organizing experience, served three terms in Illinois senate, and 1 year as the Illinois state senator? I don't necessarily think that you can say someone will be a good president simply based on prior political experience, but if you're going to try and use that as a metric, claiming that Obama lacked in that area is fairly absurd.majoras_wrath
Says common sense? My job as an SF(cop) in the Air Force better prepared me to be a cop in the real world. A governor has direct executive experience, senators do not.
romney might be winning but is also getting all his money from the same guy thaty caused folks who got asbestos illnesses due to handling of it exempt from health insurance claim laws. paul "the vultre" singer look him upSOURCE
Romney wins big, securing both Arizona and Michigan. All the while the media was, basically, predicting his doom. Hopefully Santorum and Gingrich will drop out and stop making Romney waste all of his money on them.
What say you, OT supporters of Romney? How does it feel?

Sorry man, I just don't buy into your particular brand of crazy.
I realize this is late in responding, but I was fairly upset when my man Gingrich dropped out. I have this theory that nobody really supported Romney at the beginning, but he gained support when the good candidates like Gingrich, Santorum, and Bachman dropped out (heck even Herman Cain would have been better), and had no where else to go. Who was the person you were originally for and why were you so happy to finally support Romney? Romney didn't stand for what I believe he was just a warm body that I was hoping would become a puppet of the true GOP.SOURCE

No, Mitt Romney had strong support from the very beginning. He was always number 1 or 2 and every other candidate (all of the ones you mentioned) had their five minutes of fame as frontrunner and they all fell back.
