If you believe in karma they will get what is coming to them.

Eh. It's not like Ireland would have had much of a chance anyways. I think the better team went through to the championship.

Anything can happen.

I'll be rooting for USA. Realistically they don't have a chance of winning. I'm hoping they at least get past group stage. Keep hearing Spain as a potential winner, they haven't won a World Cup yet. Maybe luck will change for them.

I´d go with england since favorites (spanish/brazil) never win

however england has gained a lot of attention lately and their keeper isn´t exactly the best

hyrueprince11

Yeah, being the most successful team in World Cup history, Brazil "never win". England will unfortunately fail because of the media, Spain will underachieve as always and its probable that Brazil will win again. Wouldn't mind seeing England win it actually, either them or Germany. This coming from an Irishman. Hope the French get knocked out first.

again the favourite never wins, even pele said the other day, everytime brazil gets to the world cup making a lot of noise they lose

just think about it 98 and 2006

while in 2002 when they didn´t make a lot of noise they were the champions

I could say a few more examples about brazil but I´m not so sure if they were the favourites or not since I wasn´t born when that happened

Not really. In 2002 Brazil had the Three R's(Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo) and all three of them players are retired or way past their best and that is why their success went downhill but new talent has come up and I think they are back to winning ways. Now why do teams with great players like England never win? Because each and every one of their players are based in the UK and play for English teams, which of course, adds intense pressure. They know losing means going back to playing for teams in England and facing the horrible media. Look at David Beckham in 98, He left England and went to America for a while to see his Wife because of the media in the UK.

I believe that is somewhat incorrect. My team, Slovenia eliminated Russia during the playoffs, Russia has better individual players, but they were not a better team. I think France did not perform well during the Ireland match and Ireland was in fact the better team on the pitch. On the other hand I do understand your point of view as a two legged playoff match will always play out different to a World cup and in that aspect France have more chances of doing well in the competition.

I hope Brazil wins, but I think Spain will probably take it.

Spain has a good chance. I think winning Euro will help them with that whole "underachiever" tag they have.

Brazil's my other pick and I hope they win.

Being English I would love to see them win, but in reality they'll probably go the way they usually do, i.e. out in the quarters or semi's (they should at least get through the first round this time). Argentina I would say no – too inconsistent in the qualifiers. Spain has to be up there and I'd never discount Holland. Brazil I don't know about this year, but always a favourite. Overall though, I reckon this has all the hall marks of a Germany win. I can feel it in my (foot)balls

My favorite teams are Spain and Mexico.... Mexico doesn't have a realistic shot this year but I'm hoping for La Furia Roja to take home their first world cup title8)

I'm partly Italian and Italy has always been my team. Last world cup was amazing for me. With that said, I think they have little chances of winning this year, the team is clearly older and much weaker.

I think Spain has the best team, and I think they will probably win their first world cup. Unless Brazil gets in their way. Brazil has got a lot of great young players, but I'm not sure if their as good as Spain.

Spain and Brazil is what I'm saying for the final, with Spain coming out on top.

Spain are favourites IMO, such a good team. I would like England to win though because if they dont win this year, they will not win for a long long time due to the lack of top class young players coming through.
