It isn't something to do with a gene, you can't blame everything on genetic makeup. History, upbringing, family, media, etc. are much more of an influence than anything. You are foolish anyhow! Isn't it a bit obvious that people have and always have had tribal mentalities? Since when have humans been the kind of race that thrive on being the lone wolf? There are instances where people keep to themselves but we all work together and live together in a sense. In our most basic form we work on instinct and that appears to be savage but tribal.

I believe that culture is essential to human survival and that accepting other cultures is a very important step in self actualization I have never once claimed that my personal experience has any effect on my opinions in this matter, this is just how I see it. In Canada there are so many different cultures that you can't worry about them and thats why I can see that so many people are racist in some way even if it is in their subconscious. It is just something we do.

No they wouldn't. Actually, those type of surveys have been conducted before and nobody caused a riot.

The problem arises when you start to apply stereotypes to everyone of a certain race or nationality. For example, it would not be racist if I were to say people from different areas of the world will not get the same score on this IQ test. It would be racist if I were to say a bunch of [race] people did not do so well on this IQ test, so I will not hire you because of it.

People are different, even within their own race, that's what every scientist knows and would not try to hide.

Even if that were true, it could not be applied to everyone else, who had nothing to do with the muder of those 1 billion people. You are applying a certain negative mentality to the rest of the world, without personally having any evidence to back it up.

Humanity does sick stuff all the time, that does not make every human inherently violent and sick. Billions of people have been murdered in the name of religion, that does not make every religious person a disgusting murderer.

Well, you just destroyed your argument. If it isn't genetic, and based solely on upbringing, then isn't it possible that someone has been taught how to be tolerant of other races, natonalities, and cultures? And because of that, they have no racist thoughts, or thoughts of racial superiority? Obviously, they must think about the subjects themselves, but to believe in them is a different story.

But, now you're telling me that it is based on instinct, and not upbringing. Well, you don't even understand what you're saying. Neither do I..

People are generally social animals, yes, that is true. Our brain is wired that way. How does that apply to racism again? Some people choose to hang out with people of their same culture, that's also true. That does not make them racist, though.

I agree, actually. I was saying that tribal mentality can't be pinpointed in our genetic makeup, by the way. I agree that people can raise their children to not be racist but they still have racist thoughts and that was all I was arguing as far as I know. It is hard to defend a point that you don't really believe in but whatever. I was claiming that some things are instinct and some things are upbringing. It irritates me that people expect to find everything in our genes, that is all.

Hanging out with peope fo the same culture doesn't make them racist and I never said that. I think we went different directions with the tribal argument anyhow.
