Some of the Comments on FB and Twitter are really Harsh. I dunno why they were not impressed.

Well? Whats your opinion on it Americans? I don't see anything wrong about it from personal view point as US consists of diverse people, not just white people :)

That particular gold is similar to others as of late. Similar. Not identical. Being that I have passed on such coins, I'll probably pass on this one too and stick with the buffalos and such.

It will give white supremacists something to complain about and yell SJW for I guess so that's something. Otherwise what rational person cares? Lady liberty is actually green and that makes sense to me. Money is green and in this country that is what gets you liberty.

Honestly, I never understood the need to change a character's ethnicity. Lady Liberty should have stayed white just as she should have stayed black if that's how she was first depicted.

I think the only issue that may arise with the coin is whether it'll be much more valuable 100 years from now or will it only be worth as much as its gold content?

Personally, I prefer mainstream coins that were issued for circulation rather than commemorative editions.

There's something more desirable about a coin that was in circulation and widely used, but also rare.

Being from northern Nevada (not too far from Virginia City), I occasionally did some jaunts at ghost towns with my uncle's metal detector. I might resume that hobby. Who knows? I might find something valuable next time.
