ok im going to get guitar pro and on the website it says i have to have 128 mb ram and 35 MB free hard disk space. ok i think my computer has 256 mb ram not sure about the hard disk space. my question is do i really need the hard disk space for it or not?

yes, its for caching, go to www.srtest.com and run the test to see if you can run it

You would have to be pretty low on space to not even have 34MB.

Got to "My Computer", right click on "Local Disk", go down the menu and click on properties. It should tell you how much free space you have left.

wait i read the wrong one its says i need 512 mb ram and i only have 256. how can i get more what do i need?

You would need to get another stick of RAM, it can be confusing finding the right type for you motherboard, your best bet would be to post your computer specs in the hardware forum, there's a lot more tech minded people there :P

And if you know anyone that does a bit of computer work try and get them to have a look for you

Is it Guitar Pro or Guitar Hero you're after? Guitar Pro as in the tabs program. If so, unless your PC was owned by Moses at one time it should have no problem in running it.

If your PC only has 128Mb of RAM then it must be very old. Id suggest a full upgrade. Your motherboard probably wont be able to handle RAM thats on the market these days. Ask your question at the PC Hardware forum, they will help you with upgrading.
