For those of who you still think metal is a worthless genre

Dio could do better. He may not have the stage presence of Ozzy, but he's a far better vocalist.

I actually saw Heaven & Hell (Dio-era Sabbath under a different name), and Dio had great stage presence. Then again, I haven't seen Ozzy Sabbath in concert, so I can't really compare them...

Yeah, well Ozzy may not be that great a singer, but at least he used to eat stuff onstage and throw buckets of water on people. Dio just kind of plays with his mic stand and walks around a bit, mostly using gestures.

I went through a phase during high school where I listened to lots of thrash metal. Then, as I started studying different genres of music my tastes matured and I moved on to better things.

I began to study jazz and classical guitar as I went to university and started to listen to a lot more jazz. Hard Bop, like early Miles Davis. In the classical genre I got really into Romantic period music and French Impressionist music such as Ravel and Debussy. As far as rock music I got into more alternative rock music such as Radiohead, Portishead and Beck. I've always been a huge Beatles fan too. Also got into genres like shoegaze represented by bands like "My Bloody Valentine". More recently I've been trying to check out the indie scene of music and am really digging Fleet Foxes at the moment.
