I'm sure alot of us agree that cartoon's just aren't what they used to be anymore. some of them are complete crap, I've also noticed my 8 year old niece NEVER even heard of Bugs Bunny until today.

So in your opinion, what are some cartoon characters that you grew up on are underrated, forgotten, or overshadowed by modern cartoons?

Dexter, Johnny Bravo, and Freakazoid were definitely not underrated

I noticed this show never gets any mention around here or even with people I know IRL

I mean, a skeleton with a jamaican accent is pure gold !

Rocko was awesome, I can't believe the writters had the balls of showing some adult themes in a kids show, like those Mrs. Bighead aproaches to Rocko because of her husband and her having an unsatisfying life, or the future nipples of really really big man.

Most of the "newer" generations of cartoon suck imo. Most of them try to hard to be funny

I love this cartoon so much. If only Nick would give the show an official release, I would buy it instantly.

They don't make 'em like they used to.

Probably the whole cast including its villains. They need to remake this show or make it into a movie.

That show actually was badass.

There was also a live action Tick Show starring Patrick Warburton and Rick Moranis, but I thought that the cartoon was MUCH better.

Inspector gadget, popeye, woody woodpecker and more old cartoons that had been forgotten. But there are some old cartoons that they remake and getting some improvement like the powerpuff girls cartoon that evolved into an anime and given a new title, powerpuff girls z. I'm getting ankward when seeing this 'anime' for first time and seems weird when an american cartoon evolved into a japanese-style anime.

Jd1680a

The problem with Thundercats (at least in my opinion) is that people dressed up like cats just look too fancy. And yes, I'm aware that they were half-cat/half-alien hybrids (or, something), but the same basic idea still applies.

This was also not helped by the fact that Mum-Ra, although sort of scary-looking, seriously has to have been one of the most stupid and incompetent villains in cartoon history. He was constantly foiling his own plans by being a total ****ing moron. And heroes are often weighed against their villains. If the villain is an incompetent buffoon who spends most of his time sleeping in a box, it's sort of hard for the heroes to look cool when they defeat him.
