I'm 16, 5'6'', and 120 lbs. I'm really skinny:( I lifted for 3 weeks but stopped. How long does it take? What are some good ways to gain some weight and muscle? I play soccer, I'm pretty active. I hate being skinny:(

If there is a site that I can check out and maybe a good workout schedule that I can work around that's convient for me

I don't lift weights, but I think it would take a little longer than 3 weeks to see noticeable results. I'd say that you need to be taking in more calories than you expend every day. Also, whey protein can help build muscle mass if used properly.

well to gain muscle you usually need the mass for it to exist. you cant make big ole muscles out of skin and bone. eat high calorie foods for a while, heavy in carbohydrates and protein, but no junk food. How much weight have you been lifting? It has to be a slow steady process, you can't rush it. Just make sure you have a regular workout session that focus on your problem areas.

Some exact problem with me so I started to RUN. You can go running and it cleans out your arteries. When that happens you gain weight cause all the fat is stored up after years of junk food.

to gain mass you need to take in a gram of protien for every pound you weigh in a given day.....that coupled with a solid wight lifting regiment will give you an increase in mass.....

creatine is not protien....creatine is a substance that increases water absorbstion into the muscle fiber and it weakens the effect of lactic acid on your muscles....

You sound like my friend. He's 15, 4'6", weighs about 80 pounds. He eats a fair bit, he's also pretty active. Just doesn't build any mass/

Yeah I wanna add muscle to my upper body too since I'm in a play where I'm pratically half naked (nothing but square foot cloth each in front and back of my waist area...). Guess you can say I'm pulling a Harry Potter, lol.

Try googling how to build muscle mass for skinny people or something. But if your metabolism is that fast, I'd just say eat as much as you can every day. As long as you are exercising it will turn into muscle, not fat. Especially eat stuff like steak.

You're not really skinny. I'm 16, 5'7 and 102 lbs. Being skinny doesn't automatically make you weak and you don't need to gain weight or have bulky muscle to be strong. Just do push ups and sit ups and before you know it, you'll be like a ninja.

What he said^^^, and in order to gain mass of any kind you need to eat more calories you burn doing things like soccer, so try to eat 5 or 6 times a day consuming LOTS of healthy things, like fiberous, high protein things, also get a regular lifting program and keep a log to track your accomplishments

Soccer is an extemely cardiovascular sport meaning its going to build endurance and some muscle in your legs but, not do to much for your size. I reccommend getting a lot of protein and keep lifiting those weights it should help but it will take a while.

I just don't want to be short and defined. I don't know how tall I'll grow. I wish there was something for growth
