How is McCain winning in polls? Does America really want a 3rd bush term?Haziqonfire
No, it's just that most Americans can get it through their heads that McCain is not another Bush.
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Obama is still too far left. There are too many Conservative or Middle of the road kind of people and McCain is just the person for them. But i will say that both sets of grandparents of mine both hate McCain but hate Obama more so they are going to vote McCain so...
I wish people would stop wasting their vote by voting against someone.
I am really not sure who will win..i mean i thought Obama was just going to Smash McCain but now that he has chosen who he has for his VP i think that may change some peoples decisions.
the Republicans got a bump after the RNC like the Democrats did at the DNC. Polls won't mean anything until after the first debates and even then I wouldn't put too much faith in them.darkodonnie
Polls won't really mean anything until election day, youth are very unreliable in the election and obama is counting on their vote, along with the busy upper clas and other such that support McCain so the polls will almost never be accurate.

Yup, that's why I am not putting faith into them. Not to mention that in this case I think there are definitely some people who are racist or sexist but try to publicly be politically correct that may not actually vote for a black president or female vice president when the time comes despite what they say in polls. Plus I think that a lot of the bitter Clinton supporters will actually vote Obama or not vote at all rather than voting for McCain out of spite.

Enough with the Obama bashing threads. Just because you're a greedy individualist doesn't mean that Obama isn't a good choice for Prez. I assume you're making over $250,000 per year not to like Obama...Lord__Darkstorn
Do you not like being an individual? It's not greedy to look out for your own best interests.
we look at polls now, the opinion of less than 2,000 people reflect the nation.
Ps its just the convention bounce, look at it fall down
A lot of people on here were saying how Obama is going to win because he was favored in the polls by 7 points. What do you have to say about this?

Edit: I guess I'll have to wait for all the high school kids who love Obama to get home from school before I get some responses...

Try college. The only poll that matters.

I dont get this wealthy bashing. People talk about sexism and racism, hell, they should see how much people hate the rich. The only other people that are hated more than use are the Jews.

yep I dont know why either
90% Bush, it takes a real maverick to get rid of 10%

Umm, yes he did. Remember when he was up by 7 points in the gallup after the DNC and the democrats on here were calling victory? Yeah, forgot already? It was only a week ago.

No I just didn't see that poll, I only really pay attention to the CNN poll of polls
Its never a good thing when the number one spot is trying to out noob the oppositions number two spot. Its debatable who is more "noob" between the two. But there is no question Mccain is leet next and obama is a major noob. Palins experience just highlights Obamas weekness even more. biterAmerican
I really cant be bothered to object with everything you just said
Dam Palin. She is a contridiction at every turn and republicans buying into here seriously reminds me of doublethink. We have always been at war with Eastasia. 20 months as governor is more than enough experience, Palin never supported the bridge to nowhere, and obviously we have never discouraged 17 year olds from getting pregnant, even if it was out of wedlock.
And we americans are just gobbling it up. This is getting ridiculous.
I need some help trying to understand this McCain support. It is obvious that the most important factor is the economy. Obama has laid out plans to help it recover. McCain has been vague in that respect other than extending all of Bush's ecomonic policies, and we all know how those worked out. Numerous unbiased economists have run the numbers and Obama's policies would be better for middle income families.
Obama is the only one of the two that has a plan to get the oil speculators, who are driving up the price of oil and gas. McCain is in the oil company's pocket (no matter what lies he tries to say to the contrary) just like Bush. Before Bush went into office, gas was like $1.50 and there were hardly any oil speculation contracts. Now gas is near $4 and there are about 4 million oil speculating contracts out there. You do the math on all that.
And now worst of all, McCain tries to pander to the former Clinton supporters by picking Palin. That is the only reason she was picked, period.
I do not understand how anyone can say McCain would be better for the country. Anyone that says such has somehow been brainwashed or has serious issues with logic and reason.
[QUOTE="marcus4hire"]It's clearly obvious that all of the polls are wrong. They are all contrived by the GOP to show that McCain is ahead. No Americans like him. He is the antichrist for crying out loud!! The man is pure evil and, if elected, will only eat babies. Any news report or statistcal data saying McCain is out front is a clear sign that the GOP has managed to corrupt America and the political process.
If McCain were to ultimately win it would just go to show how inexorably wrong the entire US election process is and how we need to overturn the government because the Dems should win every election since they are clearly superior no matter what these so called 'polls' or 'elections' say.
It's just silly and ignorant to think otherwise.
Think I spread it a little thick with the whole 'baby eating' thing????
hokies1313
I like McCain, he is not the anti-Christ and does not eat babies, he happens to be pro-life.
How is McCain winning in polls? Does America really want a 3rd bush term?Haziqonfire
You should probably stop using that argument, seeing as even Republicans, and Bush himself, regard McCain as someone that is not like Bush and will actually change the way Washington works and WILL get stuff done.
HAHAHAHAHA!!! Ignorance at it's best.
[QUOTE="Haziqonfire"]How is McCain winning in polls? Does America really want a 3rd bush term?Theokhoth

Really? So he's not a Republican and completely ignorant of the real world?

And blaming Oil speculators for the rise in oil prices is way off base, and shows that he has little understanding of the true causes behind it. Blame OPEC, speculators, geopolitical tension etc all you want though, rather than the simplest explanation that Oil supply can't meet demand anymore. It's kind of become a taboo issue that no one wants to discuss or acknowledge.

I'm a young person and I know a lot of other young people who will be voting for McCain, because like most other young Americans we know the difference between a good presidential candidate and a celebrity
Guess darkmistx has been brainwashed by republican jargon. It's all about oil speculation and not supply vs. demand. How do I know this? Saudia Arabia was asked to increase production and they said no with a response that supply is fine, if you have trouble with the price, look at oil speculation driving the price up. A study was shown in conjunction with a bill some democratic congressmen tried to pass to shut the door on a loophole the oil speculators use. It showed the price of a barrell of oil should be about $60. This bill was shot down by the republican side who also must of bribed just enough democratic congressmen to help their cause. Then, immediately after, all the repbulicans started screaming, off shore drilling and completely ignoring the study and the Saudi comments on supply. Obviously a smoke screen, but unfortunately it worked.
And as for the young person who claims to support McCain. Can you please give me a logical reason why he would be better to get the economy back into shape? That is basically rhetorical as he's not offered any real proof, yet you and whoever else want to support him for some reason. Probably based off of some ideal democrats = evil, which is akin to witchhunting back in colonial times.
Republican politicians are crooked and anyone in this country that supports them are either brainwashed or lacking in the ability to use proper judgement.
