Gauge piercings..Your opinion on them?

I personally find them gross, they smell, look stupid and you like a moron as you get older.

I think they look stupid as all hell. I really don't get why people do it (don't see it much anymore).

i technically used to have my ears stretched, not what you are thinking about though. only got them up to an 8 i think, that's not that big.

The only earrings I approve of are those that are small/normal sized and on the ears.

Any other size or location is unattractive to me.

This applies to other people, as I do not wear nor plan to wear earrings myself.

WELL, as opposed to everyone else posting thus far, lol, I like them. I have my ears stretched to about 9/16, almost half an inch..That guy looks stupid. haha, I am into tattoos and piercings but in more of a ....humble way. haha lol, compared to that fool, mine look tiny Squidney

Well, after looking at that guy and some other pics on the web, I can safely say I am not a fan. I will even go so far as to say I am disgusted by them.

Gauges up to size 0 are okay (and they don't look obnoxious).




Anything above that permanently damages your ear. I'm personally not a fan of them in general, but as long as they're not obnoxiously large I don't mind.

EDIT: I think anything smaller then 2, looks OKAY. But 0, 00, 000 and whatever else comes after that look GOD AWFUL!!! MANY jobs will NOT higher someone with huge gauges, because you can't take them out because your earlobe is streched permanently.

I don't mind girls with ear piercings or sometimes a nose ring if it's not insane like a loop or something (depends on the person). But piercings on dudes... I just think they look so dumb.

Do you mind posting pictures of your ears? Before and after? I have two friends who took out double 0 gauges and their ears have yet to heal. They took their gauges out in december and the other in october.

They haven't closed at all? Did they size them up properly? If you stretch them over a gap of two sizes, it can damage your ear lobe.

EDIT: To the poster above, sure you have a job. I can think of a lot of places where they wouldn't hire you because you have gauges, at my job they make me take at my lip ring! WTF yes. One of the friends who took their gauges out was turned down a job because of his gauges, thats the reason he got rid of his gauges.

Sure they closed somewhat, but not all of the way. decent size holes are left in both ears, on both of my friends. The hole of the circles are probably comparable to size 12-14 gauges.

I think they look great if you can pull them off. Look WAY better than the stupid, overdone diamond/studs.

And to the people posting those pictures of the extreme gauges, thats the equivalent of posting someone with a full face tattoo and having people think thats what all tattoos look like.
