American cars have got to be the worst manufactured cars in the world. Sure some of them look good (the Mustang for example), but all they can do is go in straight lines and drink petrol.

I respect German cars as being very well made.  However I can't stand the stigma that goes with them.  I would choose just about anything over one.  Porsche is the only German maker I really like.  I would never get a VW, BMW, Merc, or Audi.  And I don't even like Lamborghini now because it's owned by VW.

I'm VERY into cars and probably know more specs for all cars including German cars than most people but I just don't like them.

And the 2005 Cadilac CTS-V beat the M5 on the Nürburgring.  At least compare apples to apples!

Hondas are good, I had an (Acura, same thing) RSX for 6 years.  But I'm getting bored with their lack or RWD and V8s.  The TSX and TL should both be RWD.  The S2K is about the only Honda I would want at this point.

My Honda is a good 12 years old now.  I haven't had a single problem with it.  I just get regular maintenance done and it always runs.

It's because you downplayed how great the Z06 is.  Comparing it to a M5 is an insult when it even beats the Zonda, F430, and 599.  Like I said the M5 is not even in the same league as the Z06.

And yes that was the 2005 models for both M5 and CTS-V.  But don't be to sure about the new M5, it's a boat at over 4,000LBS and Caddie has a new DTS-V with 500 HP (z06 engine) coming out to.  I'm sure it will also beat the M5 as that is the only reason they even make a V model in limited numbers.  Just to beat the M5 and show BMW up.

But if I had to choose, it would probably be an M3 or M5. As much as I like the Vette, I love the interior and luxury of the BMW's. But hey, that's just me. :D

I should note that though I said Honda the last car we bought (for the wife) was a Subaru, an outback.  Nice family car.  The car after that though will likely be another Honda.

Isn't Lamborghini owned by Audi?

And disliking a car for the country of origin from it's company... dude... that's messed up

Yeas and Audi is owned by VW.  So its all the same, its all VW.  And I'm sorry you think that its messed up to not like a car because of where its made but the reality is most people have opinions about cars because of where they are made.

And they have crappy plastic interiors, even Volkswagen toke care of their interiors.

American cars do have a great sound though.

I would say German because for one, American car quality is still poor.  However, cars produced in Europe are also beginning to slide.  Seems the only ones who can keep it consistent are the Japanese.  Going back to the intial question, I've far preferred European styling over American in automobiles.  Some of the American cars can put up a quite a fight or even trump their European counterparts but a Corvette will never be as beautiful as a Ferrari.
