Religion supression is when is forced tonot practice the religion of choice. Germany has not told Cruise he can't practice Scientology nor could they enforce it. They don't like his ideas and they don't have to let him film there. Not religious supression, however. Throwing words around does make them fact. ;)

The FACT that they denied him accessbecause of his religious beliefs makes it religious suppression, FACT. Plus they were spouting off Christian nonsense as a reason for their b.s.

You don't understand the term religious suppression. Not liking someone's religion is not the same as suppression. So unless you can prove how Germany is banning the practice of scientology then your point is moot.

It absolutely is.

You are absolutely correct. They may not be "suppressing" his ability to practice his religion, but they are certainly suppressing the film makers from shooting in Germany BASED on Tom's religious preference. Absolutely retarded, what does Tom's views have to do with the movie anyways?

If this was a Christian man trying to film in Pakistan, and the Pakistani government banned them because of the star's Christian views, people would be up in arms, I guarantee this.

Scientology isn't even a religion. It's a dangerous cult that tries to take as much money from you as possible.

I think its funny, as I hate Tom Cruise and Scientology. But to be honest Scientology is no more ridiculous than most other established religions. It is just that the established religions have existed longer. For me Scientology just throws up how stupid organised religion is in general, recognised or not.

good point... and now just imagine if a muslim was banned from filming or acting in the UK/USA. But i dont think scientology counts as a religion really, i find it annoying they use the word science in there name aswell seeing as it has no scientific basis... its really more far stretched than other "real" religions. Scientology is just a cult and tom cruise is an annoying idiot for being involoved in it.

Well, I really don't know that much about scientology to be honest, but i don't see why it is not a religion. Why is it different then any other religions? They believe in what they preach, so who are you (or me, or anybody else) to say it's not a "real" religion.

Oh ya, your point about the muslim thing is spot on too. There would be a huge outcry, and probally even a fatwa released :cringe:

But ya, I agree, I don't care for Tom (though his movies are good) or scientology either. Personally, whatever someone does with thier time does not bother me, unless it hurt other people.

Unless Tom Cruise transforms himself into the "Cruise missile" and launches himself to Germany. That would be bad. He can cause serious destruction.

scientology is based on good spirits and stuff... and you have to pay for your nose to get sort of chill out sessions to buy your place in the after life... scientology is basically a business exclusively for rich and foolish people to buy themesleves an afterlife, but they named it a religion....

Even if your description is totally accurate (I am guessing there is more to it then that), they still have a right to believe what ever they want, regardless of how much it costs or silly the beliefs may be.

Anyways, I don't see how that is any sillier then believing god impregnated a virgin, died a gruesome death on a cross for our sins, and then magically resurrected a few days later. I guess all religion seems pretty silly, so I really don't care lol.

I think I am going to go do some reading and check out scientology, see what all the hub-bub is about.
