Get rid of ugly scroll bar at the bottom of GS ?

Does anyone know how to get rid of the ugly scroll topic bar at the bottom of GS.

Didn't use to be there, something that's been added. Use to be able to avoid it by logging in, now its there even logged in.

God awful design, that blocks off 20% of the screen.
