Get her to get a tattoo of your name on her as well so that way she wont even consider trying to hook up with someone;). But if she doesnt then ya...............

no, she might be depressed without you, and theirs a possiblity she will cheat and break up with you while your gone, you will regret it, also some cases of soldiers being depress and start having sucidal thoughts when it happens, that tatoo will make it worse reminding you of her all the time, but thats your choice.

Like anything else there's a risk involved. Plenty of people in happy relationships have a tattoo for their significant other so if you feel like it's going to last forever then go for it. You know the risk and that's what matters.

That's the tattoo for all the people asking for a picture for what ever reason. And for an update when i showed her mine she decided she was going to get my name on her upper leg (you know what i mean)

It usually annoys me when people talk about how "you'll regret" getting a tattoo, but this is the one exception. Getting your significant other's name tattooed on you is something that you almost definitely will regret.

tattoo her name in chinese , so even if you break up you'd still have a nice tattoo and can get another girlfriend (who doesn't speak chinese ).

Those "magic" tattoo-be-gone creams are a complete scam.

Your other options are lasers or procedures that "sand" them away. Both will cost you hundreds and hundreds of dollars, as well as permanently scar your skin.

Getting a tattoo because you can always just "get rid of it" is just stupid.

If you've made up your mind, no one here is going to convince you otherwise.

If you think your relationship will last solely because you've been together for 5 years, that's not really all that long of a committment. I don't doubt you two love each other, but it'd be smarter to not get a tattoo at all, or if you just really really want some ink, get something that symbolizes her.

I've known plenty of military couples. I won't say she's going to cheat or that you two are doomed, but out of the 5 I know, 4 ended in divorce. There's a difference taking responsible risks in the name of love, like getting married, moving in together, having children, etc., and then permanently scarring your body so you have a reminder of her for the rest of your life. There just isn't a real reason for it.

But it's your call, so good luck with whatever you choose to do.

I'm not saying it won't work out between you two, I am saying that there is a 99% chance it won't. Plus I hear military women are pretty promiscuous....

Alright well im not sure why im sharing this with all of you but im getting my long time girlfriends name tattooed on me on my left side on the rib closest to my heart. I'm not sure where I came up with the idea but im leaving for the army in about 3 weeks and will not be able to talk to her at all pretty much aside from letters and i got the idea in my head to get her name tattooed on me so i can feel like she's always with me. I'm I really being foolish for doing this because i really don't feel like i am.

You could always try to find another woman with the same name, and then lie to her and say you did it for her
